Aprils POV

I shot up in bed suddenly, feeling a pain go up through my arm. I gasped slightly before whispering, ''Did I hurt it?...''

Pulling myself out of bed, I looked at the alarm clock that sat on the bedside table. It read 6:30am. I shrugged before pulling my coat on. Why not go for a walk then?

I crept silently down the stairwell into the common room, making sure no one was in sight, before sneaking out. I pushed through the large, heavy Hogwarts doors and made my way towards the Black Lake. The pain in my arm had subsided by now. The walk was lonely, and quiet - no one else was about.

I sat down on one of the rocks, and stared out at the lake. Draco had never been particularly nice to me, so how did I know this wasn't some sort of...joke?

I yawned, starting to get up. The sun would rise soon, and I wanted to go back to sleep. I froze when I heard light footsteps thudding against the marshy grounds. I quickly hid behind a tree.

The familiar bleach blonde hair bobbed through the bushes, until he was fully visible, standing by the lake. I couldn't see Draco's face - he was staring across the water. Suddenly, I heard a sob escape his throat, and he collapsed into the grass. I let out an inaudible gasp, about to call out to him, when he said something.

''What am I going to do?''

I peered at him from behind the tree, and sucked in a breath. Draco's face was twisted in pain, he was clutching his arm tightly. It reminded me of the rumours, 'Malfoy's a death eater'.

I took a few steps forward before placing my arm on his shoulder, ''Draco...''

His faced whipped around, facing me. ''A-April?''

I kneeled beside him, ''Draco, What's wrong?''. He turned his face away from me, an obvious attempt to hide his expression.

Before I could do anything, Draco pulled me into an embrace. I wished I could have stayed in his arms forever, it felt so right.

''April. I'm sorry,'' Draco apologized unnecessarily.

''What for?''

Pressing his lips against mine, he smiled. ''I won't drag you into this mess, April.''

My eyes widened, ''Oh god. It's true isn't it? What they say...''

Draco shrugged. ''Stay away from me for your own good, Renshaw,'' He said it, almost pleadingly.

I looked down, it was almost like those few words could break my heart. ''I'm not afraid of them, Draco.''

His hand glided under my chin, pulling it up so he could look at me, ''Maybe so. But he would kill you, April, I can't let that happen.'' Draco's other hand was on mine, his thumb grazing against my fingers.

''Malfoy has a heart.'' I whispered, knowing this may be the last time we would have an actual discussion, not a fight.

Mira's POV

I stretched, straightening up in my bed. I could see April sitting up in her bed. I squinted, my eyes still taking in the brightness of the room, ''Mornin' April.''

''M-Morning,'' I heard April stutter. I realized her tone was off, not cheerful like usual.

''April, What's wrong?''

''N-Nothing.'' I decided to take a closer look at her, so I went and sat next to her, on the bed. There were tears laced upon her pale face and there was hurt in her eyes.

I felt the anger rising up inside of me, ''That son of a-''

April opened her mouth to argue, but I skipped the cursing. ''I'm going to kill him.''

I started to get up but April latched onto my arm, ''No, Mira, Just leave it.''

She smiled nervously at me, ''I need a friend...''

I laughed lightly before hugging her, ''Promise you'll tell me?''

''Eventually,'' April agreed.
