"A brother sees you at your best, sees you at your worst. Sees you come last, sees you come first. But through all this, he always stands by,"
Bryan Justin Cooper
I tossed and turned as my stomach rumbles. I have no idea what time it is, but I want to eat, and sleep- at the same time, although that's not possible.
ugh.
I lay on my back, trying to decide, if I should sleep or eat. My stomach rumbles and I take that as a sign that I should eat, stupid human anatomy.
shut up, stomach.
Lazily and groggily, I sat on the edge of my bed and push myself up after staring into nothing for the past 5 minutes.
I got out of my room and dragged myself to the kitchen. It was currently 6:15 and everyone in this house who could legitimately cook, is asleep. So, due to the fact that I DO NOT want to burn down this house, I settle for some cereal and milk.
Slowly eating my cereal, I scrolled through the twitter app for more or less 30 minutes, until my cereal got soggy. Sighing, I finished my cereal and placed it in the dishwasher, and head up to get five more minutes of sleep.
I passed the hallway of Bryanna's room and heard her screaming, I quickly ran to her room and opened her door. She was trashing around as she was screaming some incoherent phrases. I grabbed a glass water and woke her up. "BRYANNA, WAKE UP,"
She sat up and beads of sweat were streaming down her. Swiftly, I sat beside her and handed her the glass of water. She looks scared, angry? maybe even petrified, or traumatized. She may not know, but I know about her nightmares, they're about Jackson, I overheard her telling these to mom. She always came crying to her, she never told me because of obvious reasons. But today, it's different. I was never there to see here experiencing these nightmares, and now that I have, there's nothing stopping me.
"Don't think about it, let's get ready for school, yeah?" I forced a smile and she weakly nods.
"I'll meet you downstairs," I hug her and went out of the room and she takes a sip of her water and I close the door behind me.
I finished getting ready for school and I was currently waiting for for Bryanna to finish. I run my fingers through my hair a couple of times in frustration. Mom comes in the kitchen and smiles sadly at me. "What's wrong, sweetie?" She frowns and sits beside me.
She knows me too well, there's no use lying to her. "I'm worried about Bryanna,"
"Bryan, I know how much you care for your sister, and how much you love her, but trust me she will be okay," She comforts me, but it doesn't work.
"Mom, she's stressing herself out too much, she hasn't been eating as much, and if she does, it wouldn't be on time. She doesn't get enough sleep, she's getting these nightmares. It's unhealthy mom! She's getting paler by the second!" I shout in frustration and run my hands through my hair once again.
"Bry, we're both worried about her, but we've got no choice. All we could do for her right now is to let her know that we are here for her. She listens to neither of us," She frowns at this and I nod. Mom has been helping her out the most, by cooking her meals, placing pain relievers next to her plate, but she simply ignores it. Her food will be left untouched.
