"Don't rush anything, when the time is right, it will happen,"
-UnknownBryanna Juliette Cooper
As I sit on my bed, doing my best to soothe the pain of my ankle. Jasmine was pacing back and forth.
"Let me get this straight, Jason admitted that he likes you?" Jasmine says as she stops in front of me, her hand on her chin. I nod in response, focusing on my ankle.
"And you didn't tell me this earlier because....?" She drags on as she continues to pace back and forth.
Sighing, I shrug my shoulders and answer, "I don't know." She sighs an exasperated sigh and falls dramatically on my bed.
"Anything else you're forgetting to share to me?" She asks me, raising her eyebrow up, and I get ready with what I would tell you, before she fangirls once more.
I breathe in and relax, before telling her, "He asked me out on a date."

"HOLY F.UCK!"
"Mom?! What are you doing here?!" I shout as mom sits beside Jasmine- both looking at me like dogs, and I am their owner, and they are waiting for me to give them treats.
"So? What did you say? Are you going on a date with him?" Mom asks giddily, like a 17-year old hormonal school girl- ignoring my question along the way.
"I don't know, I told him I'd think about it."
Let me get this straight, I just want to have my priorities set straight. At the moment, there are 2 things in my mind that I just couldn't shake off and I can't have anything interfere with my dad and football. Mostly my dad.
If the situation was any different, sure, I'd go.
But it's not.
I took in their response- both of them were pouting like kids, until my mom whacked my head with a pillow.
"What was that for?" I groan as I shift my hand from rubbing my ankle to rubbing my head.
"I just wanted to," Mom shrugs, before saying, "Look, okay maybe you're not yet ready, but at least just go out with him and tell him where you stand. If he likes you enough, he will be willing to wait for you to be ready, if not, then there are plenty of cute boys out there." She gives me a hug and heads out the door.
"Want to stay here for the week, Jas?" I ask her as she recovers from her so-called 'shock'.
Her face lights up and gives me a knowing smile, "You don't have to ask, this place is heaven."
I know, that it may seem as if mom and I moved on from my dad's situation so quickly, but truth be told, things aren't any better. We just try to be happy, try to make each other smile and laugh, because once all this gets in our heads, it will be a downward spiral, and it wouldn't help if we do go down.
A little bit of positivity and happiness goes along way, but that doesn't mean we just suddenly forget our problems, it just means we believe we'll get through it and that we won't let the negativity affect us.
