The Darkness is my Companion

A few days later I was just leaving Aki's building as my phone beeped an incoming message. Fool that I was, I read it as the darkness closed in and my body heat went up. Someone from my past had made themselves known.

I woke up wondering where I was until I saw my fellow sub Beverly standing at my bed. "Why am I here Beverly?" I had no idea what had happen to me and I was pregnant. What was going on I needed answers.

"Riley, you were found passed out."

"Beverly, didn't I tell you I never wanted to hear that name again? Why is my hair black and how am I pregnant? Oh, no, he found me again?"

"Yes, yes you did tell me that Megan, sorry. You've had a lapse of almost 2 1/2 years, your 26 now and about 6 months along. I have to make some calls, hon, they can explain it better than I can." She walked out and hit the number for Anne at the club.

"Hello, Club Calyp......"

"Anne it's Beverly, we have a major problem. Megan is back."

"Aw shit Beverly, were is she?"

"Saint Marks. You need to bring her some clothes and some answers. She wants to know why her hair is black and why she is pregnant. I wouldn't suggest you call Roman or Nico, but that's your call. I will advise that they see her at the club first, not here. This could go very bad, Anne."

"I'll be there as soon as I can." Anne hangs up the phone, lets out a big sigh and calls David, Mark and Tim in telling them that Megan was back. They all prepared to go with Anne; hopefully to get some answers.

As all of this is happening, Roman and Nico are talking about their future with Riley. They both love her and she has shown she loves them equally. They haven't decided to share her in bed, but know it will happen at some time. For right now, they want to be with her all the time and take care of Eoin when he comes. They both feel he their son to guide and watch over. With the passing of time, they start getting nervous about where she is. Roman feels his phone vibrates and he sees it is Anne from Club Calypso.

"Hey Anne, Nico and I were just talking abo......."

"Roman put me on speaker; you both need to hear this. Something has triggered a psychotic break in Riley, Megan is back. I need you both to stay away until I can get her to the club. Nico she knows you from there, Roman I don't know how to explain you."

"Megan and I are friends. We corresponded by email."

"I have to play this by ear, I haven't seen her yet. Beverly is the only one there and she is trying to answer Megan's questions. Megan thinks Riley is an evil personality. Riley knows everything Megan has experienced; it doesn't work in the opposite direction. The only thing Riley doesn't have knowledge of is the assault. We can't afford to lose her like last time."

"What last time? Nico, do you know what Anne is talking about?”

“Unfortunately, yes I do Roman. I know you have seen the scar on Riley’s chest. I will have to assume she didn’t tell you about it. That’s an open heart scar, we caused the last one. She had 2 prior ones. Everyone is worried that Megan or Riley’s luck has run out, she won’t make it for number 4. Has anyone called Bubba yet, this is going to hit him hard?”

“Roman looked at Nico and said, “I’ll call him, it needs to some from me.”

They were all wrong about Bubba, he and Chloe took it in stride. Riley had taken care of any legal problem that could come up. Roman and Nico learned the her brother held not only Power of Attorney for all of her business and personal dealings; he and Chloe had Guardianship of Megan and Eoin when he was born. Once he was born he had dual Irish and US Citizenship. Furthermore, Bart had been given full control for Meca. They didn’t know if Riley knew she was going to relapse, but it sure looked like it. Now all they had to do was find the trigger.

It took them 2 weeks to find it and when they did Roman had a meltdown and wasn’t seen for a few days until Nico found him drunk in a bar. It had been up to Nico to notify everyone and try to calm their fears. Aki was so upset he grew a pair and told his father he would let him know when it could be arranged for them to hold a ceremony. His father was so proud he cried for real this time. Nao was also proud of him. While Nico had to do all this, he wasn’t prepared to see blonde Megan again and be called Mr. Andreas.

It had been a month of getting Megan adjusted. Tonight they were letting her go to the club. So many people had been asking about her they decided it was time. She was going in a maternity shift that has the hem raised a club standards. It was decided that Treasure was going in unclaimed, but would be looked after by a tight group. She knew Nico was a member, but didn’t know how she was going to accept Roman. There was always a wild card to be played.
