Chapter 8

Today was the big day. I had everything in my car and ready to go. I was just making last minuet checks around the apartment to make sure I didn't leave anything. When I was satisfied I locked the door for the last time and walked to the mailboxes and put the keys in there before closing it.

Turning around I looked at my apartment and smiled when I remembered when I first rented it out. I'm going to miss this apartment but I can't wait ti get to Texas. Doing so research to see how long it would take to get there I was surprised to see it would take me a good day and a half before I reached the little town close to where my ranch would be.

Heading on the road I played my R&B soul station and was on my way to a better life.

TWO DAYS LATER

After being on the road for hours and in hotels I was never more happy to be pulling up to the realtors office to collect my keys. Going in I asked for her and waited for her to come out with the keys. When she finally did I was really feeling the effects of excitement at seeing my ranch for the first time. Getting back in the car I drove past Moreno and headed for the long road to my ranch.

The road my ranch was on curved and I saw my mailbox with  the ranches number on it. Pulling in I slowed down and look my right and saw another ranch there but it looked empty. I wonder if someone lives there, I doubt it though. I keep moving towards the ranch and finally stopped the car and shut the ignition off. Blowing out my breathe I let all my nerves flow out.

Well the picture definitely didn't do justice for this ranch. The ranch was a creamy white color on the outside. Just like the house to the right it had nice long pillars. They looked like the ones made in Rome. All nice and carved just right to fit the house. The front door was glass on the inside with a screen door in front of it. Oh man am I going to love this. There was a porch with a porch swing hanging from ceiling. It had a lot of windows that was for sure. Unlocking the door I turned around and started to bring my things in. It took long but I knew I need to hurry so I could get all my appliances, decorations and anything I needed.

Finishing bringing all of the boxes to the living room I went to my truck and unhooked my car so I can head to the Bed, Bath and Beyond I saw in the town.

Getting there I walked towards the kitchen supplies and grabbed pots, pans, knives, plates, spatulas,spoons, forks, plastic wear, cups, oven mittens, table wear and little decorations to put around the kitchen. Next heading to the living section I just chose to get a flat screen, rugs, and I picked out a couches that would look good in the living room. I got a lot of curtains and the holders for them. The bathroom theme I wanted was it to be a nice teal considering it was my favorite color. I got white and teal decorations dealing for the bathroom.

I had to get two buggies and some assistance to have them get the couches, beds, the bed posts, tv stands, dressers, stands, and mirrors. Finally we were on the way to the ranch and loaded everything where it was needed to go and when I asked to pay them they said they didn't mind.

Finally it was six o' clock and I was ready to hit the hay but I still had a while of unpacking to do. I guess I could finish tomorrow. Getting up the stairs I headed to the master bedroom and looked for a towel and some clothes to wear for the night. I went in to the connected bathroom of the master room and turned the shower water on letting it get hot. Getting  undressed I got in and let the hot water soothe my body.

I was in the shower  for a while until the water started to get warm. I brushed my teeth after i dried off and put on my clothes for the night. I headed downstairs to make sure everything was locked before heading upstairs to my nice kings sized bed. I had gotten some light blue comforters and white and blue pillows. Plugging my phone on its charger I put it on my left bedside table.

 I was under the covers now and was looking out out my curtains that were over my balcony door and smiled. I was finally here. Closing my eyes I went to sleep.

Next Day

I woke up bright and early today. Got my self ready for the day and finished up my packing. I already went to the grocery store and had my fridge and cabinets stocked. I saw stables in the back and around so I knew that I wanted to have some horses around. I learned when I was younger how to ride one and how to take care of it. Since I used just about all my saved up checks I headed out to look for a job to get.

Pulling into town I looked for a spot to park in an empty lot. I walked around to see all the little shops around and loved the window display for an antique shop. Sadly no shops were hiring. I was about to give up hope when I saw a little Cafe with a now hiring sign.

Walking inside it looked just like a movie set. Nice little booths and tables scattered everywhere. The colors where white and red and the floors where wood. There were little white and orange colored roses everywhere. The smell of coffee, pastries, and nature made me smile slightly. It was a homey feel to it. It felt like I just walked into my families home.  There actually were a lot of people in the booths and chairs. Walking towards the cashier I smiled at her. 

"Hi, I um saw your now hiring sign and was wondering if I could possibly speak to the manager." 

"Sure thing let me go get him." turning to the back

Walking to the side I waited for her to return. When she did she had an elderly lady with her. she walked around back and came towards me.

"Hello miss, I heard you were looking for a job here." She said pointing for me to sit with her in an empty booth. 

"Yes I am, Is there still an opening?" I asked taking a seat in front of her.

"Yes are you able to fill out the application and do the interview now?" handing me some papers.

"Yes....Yes I can do it right now if you would like." looking at all the papers

"Here is the pen and while your filling it out would mind if I did the interview now." staring at me

"No...go ahead and ask away." Smiling her way.

Thirty Minuets Later

"Well I am fairly glad to say you seem like a really nice girl and Would like you to have the jib. Now the job is cashier and barista. Is that okay?" Smiling at me 

"Just tell me when you need me to work and I will be ready." 

"How does Monday through Friday sound. You would be working noon to six and have the weekends off." Getting up she was waiting for my answer.

"I will be here Monday." Shaking her hand and walked out to my car.

When I got inside I started it and waited for it to warm. Smiling about what happened I couldn't wait till Monday.

I finally have a job and a house.
