Riley finishes stuffing all her books into her locker and slings her backpack onto her shoulders. She turns away from the locker, shutting it with a satisfying clang. The brunette takes out her subway pass and heads towards the subway station.

She had been stuck at school because Cory had decided that Riley needed a life lesson. She rolls her eyes, remembering how Cory tried to explain how puberty works. He knew less than Riley did, and it definitely did not make him happy to hear Riley correct him. He finally let Riley leave after she embarrassed him with her higher knowledge on the subject.

The girl giggles at her father's crazy antics, and she sees that she has reached the subway station's entrance. Hopping down the stairs, Riley swipes her pass before shoving it in her pocket next to her phone.

She enters the cement tunnel and looks around her. Her ride isn't due for another ten minutes so the brunette takes a seat on one of the benches. Humming, Riley glances around the station.

She smiles, noticing Weasel beating on his drum in a rhythmic beat. She taps her foot to the beat and turns back to her backpack. She takes out the book she is reading, Dracula, and opens it up to the page she is on. Her eyes begin to scan the words, losing herself in a world of vampires and hunters.

Riley hears the screech of another subway train stopping, and the brunette looks at her watch. This is the subway she needs to get on. Riley waits until all of the people finish streaming out of the subway, learning from past experience that pushing against the crowd will only end in you getting a large amount of bruises from elbows.

Finally, the last person exits, and Riley walks into the subway, sitting on one of the benches. With a smile, Riley remembers the last time she went on this subway. The brunette chokes back a laugh from the memory of falling into Maya's lap.

Her stop is one of the last ones so Riley takes out her book again and lets herself become sucked into the book's world again. She becomes so absorbed that she doesn't even notice a certain blonde walk towards her seat, a playful smirk on her face.

"You know, it's been a little while since I've talked to you."

Riley's eyes shoot up, "Huh?"

Maya winks, looking at Riley's hazel eyes, "Hey, Sunshine."

Riley's eyes go wide, and Maya almost laughs at the deer-caught-in-the-headlights expression on the girl's face. Almost.

"Where have you been?" Riley asks.

Maya sits next to the brunette, "I told you... I'm having my own revolution."

"What does that mean?" Riley asks.

The blonde smiles, but the brunette can tell it's forced, "It isn't something you have to worry about, honey."

The brunette grabs Maya's hands and looks the blonde square in the eyes, "If something is bothering you, I want to know. Maya, you haven't even acknowledged my presence for the past week. I know something isn't right. I want to be your friend, Maya."

Maya laughs, the sound being bitter and empty, "Riley, I think you've got yourself in too deep. You better come up for air before you drown."
