Opposites Attract: A Toby Turner Fanfiction

"Light is meaningful only in relation to darkness, and truth presupposes error. It is these mingled opposites which people our life, which make it pungent, intoxicating. We only exist in terms of this conflict, in the zone where black and white clash." -Louis Aragon

Chapter One: My Name is Violet Gray

"Let the skyfall," I sang, staring at the camera lens in front of me, "we will stand tall... at skyfall." The music ended and I smiled. "Thanks for watching, my little Superstars! Also, this week I'll be going to L.A with my good friends Ian and Anthony for Vidcon!" I announced. "That's right! I finally decided to go this year since we reached 500,000 subscribers, yay! Well, I'll try to upload a video next week. Bye, loves." I turned off the camera and packed it with the rest of my stuff. "You're such a good singer, Violet," Ian mocked in his stereotypical gay man voice when I entered the living room

"Why are you in my house, Ian?" I laughed, making sure everything was ready for us to leave on our roadtrip.

"Anthony and I got tired of waiting," he replied in his normal voice, "so I came in to get you. I have a key, remember?"

"Remind me why I gave you that?" I called from my bedroom as I grabbed my suitcase and purse. I made sure I had everything before walking out of the house with Ian and locking the door.

"Because you love me?" he winked and tried to kiss my cheek, but I placed my hand on his chest and pushed him back giggling.

"You're hilarious, Hecox." Anthony honked the horn 3 times, so we both hurried to the car.

"Frickin' finally," he complained, pulling out of my driveway. "Were you two making out or something?"

"Yes," Ian said at the exact same time that I said, "No." He turned to glare at me from the passenger seat before shaking his head. "You don't have to lie, lover."

"Shut up!" I copied their catch phrase in my best Smosh impersonation.

"Hey," Anthony whined in a girly voice. "That's our thiiiiinnnngg!!" he put emphasis on the 'g' and added '-uh' at the end to mock a teenage girl.

"You're both idiots," I smirked and looked out the window, thinking to myself how far I'd come since I moved to California from New York. I had always been extremely shy, except around my close friends, but somewhow I'd become best friends with the biggest and most ridiculous guys on YouTube. It was absolutely mind-blowing. I was usually a very quiet person, but singing had always made me happy. I felt that I could sing things that I could never say. I was nervous about Vidcon, because even though I love my Superstars with all of my heart, I am absolutely terrified of large crowds. Speaking on a stage to people who actually watched me was going to be quite the experience.
