Chapter Twenty-Four: Of Course, Silly

The next morning, I walked into the living room rubbing my eyes sleepily to see Toby sleeping in what seemed like a very uncomfortable position on the couch. I sighed and kneeled next to him very slowly, since my stomach was still really tender. "Toby?" I shook him gently. "Love? Wake up."

He groaned, shifting uncomfortably before yawning and blinking the sleep from his eyes. He turned to look at me, and immediately began aplogizing for yesterday, sitting up. "Vi, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean any of it!" He is so cute. "You know I love you, right? I would never hurt you on purpose!" I love Toby so much. "You belive me, right honey?"

"I love you, Toby," I smiled gently. "I just..." I sighed, trying to explain the complicated feelings. "I'm a little disoriented with everything that's been going on, alright? But I just want you to know that no matter what happens to me or whatever I say, I love you so much," I started to cry at the end there, and Toby hugged me to his chest, shushing me and telling me that everything is okay.

"It's all okay, honey," he ran his fingers through my hair, his signature move for calming me down. "It can't get any worse, can it?" he chuckled. "Everything is going to be fine now. I'll protect you," he whispered.

I looked up to meet his eyes, and I knew he was telling the truth. I couldn't hide things from him anymore, it would crush him. I didn't want to hide things from him anymore. "Promise?"

"Of course, you silly little nugget," he poked my nose, and we both laughed.

//1 month later//

"WAKE UP RIGHT NOW, VIOLET!!"

I screamed when someone yelled in my ear and fell out of the bed. I groaned, rubbing my head. "What the hell..." I glanced around and saw Toby smirking at me. "Toby..."

"Happy Anniversary!" he laughed, jumping on the bed. What an idiot. "We're going to meet Felix, Marzia, Jack and Sean at Ian and Anthony's house!"

"Fine," I sighed. "Let me get ready."

"You have ten minutes!" he called as he ran from the room.

I wore my signature purple tank top with black shorts and Converse. I had started making videos again, which the Superstars appreciated, so wearing purple on a daily basis started up again. June fifteenth... Today one year ago, Toby and I had made our relationship official. Had it really been that long..? When we arrived at the boy's house, it was like deja vu from our six month anniversary. Purple and green streamers and ballons, but the picture on this cake was different. "Toby...?" I turned to look at Toby, but saw him kneeling in front of me with a nervous smile. Oh, snap, I gasped quietly, suddenly understanding the picture of a church on the cake.

"So, uh, haha," Toby ran his hand through his hair, biting his lip before pulling a black, velvet box out of his pocket. "I know it's only been a year but, I love you Violet. When we first met, I was crushed that you didn't seem to like me. But we grew to like each other as friends, and as people in general. I think the moment I realized I was falling for you was when we had the pillow fight in yours and Marzias hotel room," he chuckled. "Then you left.. and I didn't know what to do all alone, without you there to give me constant company." I had felt the same way when I returned home... "But then Ian asked you out, and I just wanted to run away. Especially when you said yes. Then I kissed you like and idiot and I thought you were never going to talk to me again, but you did. I found out that you liked me too, and I just couldn't even breathe I was so excited. We were together for six months before you were in an accident and you went into that coma... I knew that if you didn't make it out that I wouldn't live, and I had accepted that fact. I knew that I loved you at that point, that this wasn't just some stupid fling. You woke up, and I promised myself I would never let you get hurt again. I wasn't able to keep that promise when you kidnapped by a maniac. But now you're home, and you're okay. I don't care if you're scarred, inside or out, because I love every single bit of you, Vi. I love your blonde curls that bounce when you run to hug me. I love your sparkling blue eyes that shimmer in the sunlight. I love your smile that makes my heart stop. I love the dimple in your left cheek that was the first thing I noticed when I watched one of your videos for the first time. I love the scars on your neck and arm, because they mark you as a survivor. I love the way you smile everytime you see me, and I get to see your entire mood brighten. I don't know what I ever did to deserve such a beautiful, loving, lively, vibrant, and all around perfect girl, but I do know that whatever the reason, I will love you forever, no matter what," he stood and took my hand in his, palm up. "I promise this to you, Violet Gray," he placed the box in my hand and opened the lid to reveal a sparkling emerald ring. "Will you marry me?"

I stared at the beautiful green gem in complete awe. I never knew that Toby felt that way about me... I knew he loved me, but... "Yes," I nodded, beaming, and looked up to meet his beautiful hazel eyes. "Yes. I love you, Toby!" I wrapped my arms around his neck laughing out of pure joy.

"I love you," Toby laughed, spinning me in a circle.

"I love you more!" I poked his cheek.

"You two are making me sick," Anthony rolled his eyes, and I remembered that other people were in the room. They all laughed though, and congratulated Toby and I on our engagement.

Finally, finally, finally. Something was right in my life.
