Chapter Twelve: Six Months Later
"HAPPY ANNIVERSARY," Anthony, Ian, Felix, Marzia, Jack and Sean screamed when Toby and I walked into Ian and Anthony's living room. There were green and purple balloons and streamers all over the room! Today was Toby and I's six month anniversary and our friends were throwing a surprise party for us.
"Marzia!" I screamed and hugged her tightly. I hadn't seen her since Vidcon!
"Oh, thanks alot, Vi. Love you too!" Felix teased and I hugged him laughing. Toby brofisted Felix and hugged Marzia also. After Toby and I said hi to everyone else, Marzia and Felix went to the kitchen, coming back out with a cake. "It's homemade," Felix held Marzia in one arm. "She made me help," he chuckled.
On the cake was a picture of Toby kissing my cheek and I was sticking my tongue out with my eyes crossed- we took this picture on our one month anniversary. "We look delicious," I joked and tried to swipe some icing off the top but Sean slapped my hand.
"No!" he scolded. "Don't ruin it!"
"We have to eat it eventually!" I whined playfully.
"Calm down," Jack patted my back. "You can make it two more minutes."
"You say that now, but you've never seen me around cake." It felt like a wedding- except I was wearing jeans and a white t shirt with a black sweater and Converse- when Toby and I cut the cake together and fed a slice to each other.
"Here," Toby gave me a small box. "Happy Anniversary, Vi."
I opened it and inside was a necklace. It was a silver chain with a green and purple tye-dye guitar pick, and the guitar pick had "Toby" written in glistening gold letters. "It's beautiful," I beamed and hugged him.
"But wait, there's more!" he chuckled before pulling a matching necklace out and putting it around his own neck. The only difference was his said "Violet".
"They're perfect," I kissed his cheek and fastened the chain around my neck.
"You're perfect," he pecked my lips.
"Cheeseball," I smirked and nudged him with my hip, still smiling at my necklace.

Two weeks later was Christmas. The same group of friends met up at my house this time. Toby had helped me set up the tree and decorations for the small party. Presents surrounded the trunk of the tree Christmas morning, and everyone was sitting together in a group. I lounged on the couch with Toby, my head on his shoulder and his arm on the back of the couch across my shoulders. Ian and Anthony were playing with their Legend of Zelda swords and shields, entertaining us with an epic battle. Felix and Marzia were sitting on the floor, leaning against the couch with their hands linked together.
We were like a big happy family.
"Stay here," I stood, leaving Toby on the couch so I could retrieve his present. I handed him a thin, square box covered in red and green wrapping paper. He smiled at me for a second, and I nodded to encourage him.
When he pulled the lid off of the box, there was a DVD in a case marked "Merry Christmas, Tobuscus! From- Vi" He kneeled down next to the TV and placed the DVD in the player, pushing play and returning to his seat next to me. It was a virtual scrapbook with hundreds of pictures of us. Some were just him, some just me, some with our friends, but they were mostly photos of the two of us. In the background was me singing along to his Tobucus songs, harmonizing with him. "You're so amazing!" he laughed, grabbing my face and kissing me. "I have something for you, too," he handed me a small, rectangular white box. I pulled the lid off and saw a key inside. When I looked up at him quizzically, he smiled softly. "It's a key to my house," our eyes locked. "I love you." That was the first time he ever said he loved me...
Our group of friends all awwww'ed at the same time, and I beamed at Toby. "I love you, too."
"That's good," he nodded before biting his lip, "because I want you to move in with me."
"Okay," I nodded furiously. I didn't even have to think twice, because I knew we were ready. "Yes," I giggled. "I love you, Toby!" I hugged him. His arms wrapped around my waist, and I buried my face in his neck. I hadn't been this happy in a long, long time.
Life couldn't be any more perfect for me.
So of course something was bound to go horribly wrong.
