Chapter 13 - Nice Morning
- The next morning -
I was awoken by the sound of laughter coming from downstairs.
I reached for my phone that was underneath my pillow to check what time it is.
Once my hand came in contact with my phone, I grasped onto it and pulled it out to check the time.
5:24 AM
I groaned and slowly sat up.
I scratched my head in annoyance.
Why would someone be up this early? Laughing?!
I glared at the door and grumpily got out of bed.
I trudged my way towards the door and opened it wide so that I could exit out.
I made my way downstairs, and once I reached the living room, I saw my mom sitting on a chair, and Jeffery sitting across from her on a different chair, laughing together.
Once they noticed me, their smiles slowly faded.
"Are you okay Carrie? You don't usually wake up this early" My mom asked
I nodded and gave her a small smile. "Yeah, I'm okay. I just woke up because I heard laughing, I wanted to see what was going on" I said
My mom frowned, and at the corner of my eye, I saw Jeffery frown too.
"I'm sorry sweetie. I didn't realize that we were that loud" My mom apologized
"It's okay. I needed to get used to waking up early anyways" I said and chuckled a little
"Alright. There's leftover pancakes in the fridge. Just warm it up" My mom told me
I nodded and walked to the kitchen.
I opened the fridge and took out two pancakes.
I placed it on a glass plate and put it into the microwave.
As the pancakes was heating up, I took an apple from the fridge and sat down at the table while eating it.
As I was eating it, Jeffery came and took a seat in front of me.
"Hi Carrie" He said softly
I looked up at him and stopped eating my apple.
"Hi" I said
"I know that we didn't have a good start when we first met. But I need you to understand that what happened in the past, stays in the past. And you know how sorry I am. Can you please just give me a chance?" He asked with pleading eyes
I looked at him and sighed. "I don't know.. This may have been the first time I met you, but I hated knowing that my only father has abandoned me. It'll take me a while to get over it, and forgive you. But I will somehow. Just please be patient and give me time" I said honestly
Jeffery nodded his head. "Of course Carrie. Anything. I'm here if anything, and I'm not going anywhere" He said
I nodded my head and smiled at him a little. "Thanks for understanding" I said
"No problem. I hope we can spend more time with eachother" He said
"Yeah, sure.." I said
- 7:46 AM -
"I'll see you later mom" I said as I placed a kiss on her cheek
"See you later Jeffery" I said and waved at him before heading out the door
I saw Taylor's car and went straight into the passenger's seat.
"GOOD MORNING BEST FRIEND" Taylor screamed happily
I covered my ears and groaned a little.
"Omg Taylor, I'm like a foot away from you, no need to scream" I said irritated
"Whoa.. No curse words?" She asked shocked
I shook my head. "Nah. I don't feel like being mean. And I woke up early, so I don't feel that tired" I said as she began to drive
"You woke up early?!" She exclaimed
"Yes I did" I said and chuckled
"Whoaa.. It's like I'm meeting a whole different Carrie" She said with wide eyes
I shook my head. "Nope. I'm still the same alright" I said
"Where were you yesterday?" She asked
"Oh.. Long story. We'll talk about it later" I said
She nodded. "Alright"
- At School -
"I'll see you at 5th period" Taylor said and waved bye before turning her back to me and walking straight into the girls restroom
I turned around to walk to my locker, but stopped when I saw a tall figure in front of me.
"Hey kitten" A guy voice said deeply
I looked up and was greeted with brown eyes of the one and only, Cameron Dallas.
"Hey Cam" I replied and passed by him to get to my locker
He followed me until I reached my locker.
I turned the padlock to my passcode and opened it.
"Yesterday was fun... Wanna do it again today?" Cam asked
I looked at him for a second, and then continued with what I was doing.
"No. Not today" I said and slammed my locker shut once I got what I needed
Cameron looked down at me and frowned.
"Why not?" He whined
"Because I already got in trouble. I don't wanna get in trouble again" I said
Cameron sighed and then nodded.
"Okay... But can we hangout at lunch today?" He asked
"Umm.. I don't know because I'm hanging out with my best friend Taylor" I told him
"Oh.. Okay" He said sadly
"You can hangout with us during lunch if you want" I said with a small smile
He looked at me and smiled widely.
"Of course!" He said happily
I laughed and nodded my head.
"Okay" I said as soon as the bell rang, telling us that we needed to go to homeroom
"See you later Cam" I said and waved before walking away to my homeroom class
