Destroying the Avengers [Book 3]

Chapter 21: Olivia

Within a few seconds we are transported to the palace. As we fully re-animate i feel a heavy weight on me. I feel as if ive been here before. Which i have, i just cant remember it.

Then i comes back. Not all of my time with thanos. Just a few seconds. A few images. I can see myself talking to nebula about something while walking down this hall.

Then its gone. I return back to reality, ready for our mission.

"Alright people. We only have 20 minutes. After that were out of here. Any more than that and thanos will be onto us for sure. But that doesnt mean that he cant catch us sooner. Watch your backs and be quiet. If you see a guard, use your better judgement on whether to kill or KO. Okay? Everyone has their holo-maps and their explosives. Right?" I ask.

"Yeah. Lets get going." Sammi says.

"Alright. Meet back here in fifteen. Twenty minutes at the latest." I say. "Break."

I go running off towards my area. I am heading towards the most dangerous locations: the contol room and the main hall.

I arrive at the main hall first. I sneak around some of the pillars, peeking behind each one before moving to the next. Once i am as close to thanos' throne as i can get without being caught by the titan whis is sitting there, i place my explosive. I set it at chest height on one of the pillars. It sticks to it and a small red light turns on. It begins flashing, signifying that the explosive is ready to be armed.

I slowly creep out of the hall, the same way i came in. Once im out i quickly make my way out to the control room. I open the door carefully and step inside. I immediately know that im fucked.

In front of me is at least fifty guards. Maybe more... probably more. All with weapons pointed at me. If these were midgardian weapons then sure, I could do this easy. But these are high powered tech from all of the nine realms. This is some serious shit ive gotten myself into. I swing my hammer around, trying to see where to go first.

I throw out an energy pulse that pushes the closest guards back a bit. I begine to attack them. They all gather around me, boxing me in. All of my exits are covered. I reach for a transport seed in my pocket but my hand comes up empty. I spot the small pouch that it is in across the room.

"Shit" i mutter. As i turn back to the fight, one of the guards hits mt in the head with the but of his gun. Another guard lifts a blade that apears to be made of celentium over his head. He is about to bring it down on me when something knocks him out of the way.
I use this brief reprise to stand up and recover my stance. I begin attacking the ither guards around me. I hear a whooshing noise behind me. I spin around, expecting for there to be another guard there, but instead it is someone else.

He is tall, and has short brown hair. His eyes are electric blue like mine. He swings two long katanas around, fighting off all of the guards around us. I snap myself out of whatever came over me and i continue fighting back to back with him. After just a few minutes all of the guards are dead. I turn around to try and thank the guy who just saved me before he runs off. But to my surprise, when i turn around, he is right there in front of me.

"I know you." He says in a soft voice. "You work for thanos. Dont you?" A look of disgust covers his face.

"No. Thanos captured me and mindcontrolled me. And... now were back to blow his place up..." i say slowly. "Speaking of which." I walk over to the wall and place the other explosive. I lean down and pick up my bag with the transporter seeds and re attatch it to my belt.

"Well that would definetly explain why the guards were attacking you." He laughs.

"Yeah." I giggle. "So why would you help me if you thought i was with thanos?"

"Cause it looked like you needed help. And since you were fighting the guards i assumed you were against them. You know the saying. An enemy of my enemy is my friend. Also... you kind of look like the princess of asgard... so i guess it was partly my duty to protect the princess." He says.

"Youre asgardian?" I ask.

"Yeah. You are too?" He asks.

"Yeah." I laugh. "You could say that. So whats your name?"

"It--" he starts. Suddenly there is a loud scream that sounds like seraphie.

"Hold that thought." I say "follow me."

He follows right behind me as i run towards the source of the scream. I see seraphie kneeling over the lifeless body of christena. I choke for words. I see the body of a guard across the room.

"Wha--" i say, my voice cracking.

"He came out of nowhere. One second we were talking about how fast we got the job done... now..." seraphie sputters out, tears running down her face. I crouch down to the ground and sit next to seraphie. The guy puts his hand on my shoulder.

"Whos he?" Seraphie asks.

"My name is lucas. I just saved your friends life." He says. Seraphie glares at him. "Oh... shit... that was bad wording for the situation... sorry. I meant i just saved her life... by the way... i know this is a bad time but what is your na--"

Just then josee, tye, sammi, and Jeffery come running down the hall.

"We heard a scream. What happened?" Tye asks.

I move aside so they can see. "No. No.no!" Josee cries. "No!"

I hear footsteps coming down the hall. More guards are coming.

"Guys. We have to go. More people are coming." I say quickly. "Seraphie. Is the detonator still in christenas pocket?" Seraphie fishes through her pocket. And pulls out the detonator. But it is badly banged up.

"It must have gotten damaged when she was shot or when she fell..." josee says. Sammi looks at the remote.

"The detonator is still intact... its just... the delay is broken." She says softly.

"What does that mean?" Tye asks.

"It means that it has to be detonated manually and that it will go off the second it is pressed. No 5 second delays. Whoever is on this ship when it is pressed dies." Sammi says.

"So what now? We just leave? After all this? Christena died for this and now were just going to leave?" Seraphie asks.

"No." Josee says standing up and grabbing the detonator. "We have a job to finish. You guys go. Ill do it. At least ill spend my last minutes with my sister..." she gets up and hugs seraphie tightly.

"Im staying too. I want to be with you." Seraphie says.

"No. Theres no use in both of us dying. Besides. This is your team. And thats your real twin brother. Go. Live life. Kick ass." Josee says "Now go. The guards will be here any second now. Just go. I love you sis."

"I love you too!" Seraphie cries. Hugging josee one last time. We all gather together in one big group and take our last looks at josee and christena. I can see the guards coming up the hall. I pull out a transport seed and crush it. We are all taken back to earth and arrive in the base. Everyone quickly runs out to there rooms leaving me standing alone with Lucas.

"Here... let me show you to an empty room." I say, trying to not sound too depressed, but it doesnt really work. I lead him out to the empty room next to mine. I input his hand print into the server and let him in.

"Im in the room right next door if you need anything." I say. Then i walk off to my room. Just as i am about to walk in, lucas stops me.

"Just one last thing." He says. "I never got your name."

I smile a little before i continue walking away i say "Olivia." Then i walk into my room and close the door. I need some time alone.
