Trusting Him

I wake up to find my hand handcuffed to a bed. What the hell? I look over to see Tiger and Candy standing by the door looking at me. They walk over to me and Tiger kicked me in the side. They both start kicking and punching me everywhere. I feel like I'm loosing a lot of blood and I feel like my bones are breaking. I can hardly breath and everything seems to go blurry. Then someone punches me in the eye and every thing goes black.

I am woken by a cold ice pack getting slapped on my face. I groan in pain as I try to sit up. It hurts really bad but someone helps me. As my vision becomes clearer I see that the person helping me is Lance. I thank him while he makes sure there is nothing else wrong with me than bruises. He did let me know that I have a cracked rib though.

"You shouldn't have ran like that." He said chuckling a little.

"Yea, I haven't heard that one before." I say sarcastically.

"You are a pretty tough girl....... taking all these blows and wounds, but you are also stubborn to keep doing the same thing over and over." He said playfully scolding me a little.

"I guess I am...............so,............how are you taking things.........you know,...........about Tyler?" I asked not to sure if I wanted to or not.

"I just......... I can't believe it........ I mean, he was right there. I could've done something. I woke up this morning wanting to tell him something but then realized he wasn't with us. That he was dead." He said getting upset again.

"Now you know how my family and friends feel. They never knew that I was kidnapped until they walked in the door and found out I wasn't there. I was gone just like your brother was." I told him truthfully.

He gave me a long look before pulling me into a hug and then he whispered in my ear saying, "I'm going to help you get out here. I'm sorry for everything. I finally realized how much I............ look Haley, ............ I really like you. You get to go home. I promise you that."

"Thank you for everything." I say. By the look in his eyes, I can tell he meant what he said.

He grabs some key out of his pocket and unlocks the handcuffed. I rub my wrist while he helps me up carefully not to hurt me. He opens the door and motions for me to be quiet while we move slowly across the hall an down the stairs. Once we reach the bottom of the stairs we go straight through the kitchen and out the back door. That was easier than I thought it would be. We book it in the woods and we run until we can't no more. I don't know what time or day it is but I think it's going to get dark soon.

SOME HOURS LATER

We have been walking for a long time now and my bone are aching. I feel so weak and I know I lost weight from all this. I'm now leaning on Lance while he has his arm around my waist trying to support me. My cracked rib feels like it's about to break in half. We come up on a ........farm? There are people dancing and laughing. We make our way to them and ask for a ride into town. We want to keep it down on a low profile so we don't get everyone involved. Anyway an old man took us to town. We thanked him and headed to a hotel place. Lance payed for a hotel room so we can rest for the night and get moving again also to get food in the morning. We go to the room and get in the bed. Man I'm tired. I drift off to sleep shortly after Lance turned the lights off.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I woke up the next morning and see that I am cuddled up to someone who has their arm around me. I look up and see that it is Lance. I sigh and decide that it's time to get up and go look at myself in the mirror to make sure I at least look a little decent. I took my hair down an put it in a side braid. I huff the bruises on my face are horrible and I look like a wreck. I'm just ready to go home and get my life back to normal and forget this ever happened. I walked out of the bathroom to see that Lance is already up and ready to go. He nods his head toward the door and out we go for a long journey back home.
