Nothing Turns Out Right

We finally made it back to Georgia and I was happy that we were 10 minutes away from my house that I live in. Turns out we were in South Carolina. Long journey I know, but it was worth it. We were walking in the woods when we see Tiger and Candy running after us. We take off running when I hear a gun shot. I frantically dropped and looked around but all I saw was that Lance was shot in the leg. I crawled over to him to help him up so we can keep moving. I knew that Tiger and Candy will come looking for us but not this soon. Then another gun shot went off and I fell to the ground screaming. I got shot in the shoulder. Lance was trying to help me up but he couldn't do that much for his leg but we both manage. We come to the edge of the woods and my house is on the next street over. Lance falls down to the ground.

"Haley you need to go. Run to your house and be free. I can't go with you. I wish I could but I can't. I need to go back with my family. I k ow for a fact I will be put in prison for being in on this. I had a, surprisingly, fun time and I don't have a lot of friends, as you can tell, but I'm glad to call you my friend." He said with a smile plastered on his face and it wasn't a fake one either.

"They will kill you for helping me." I say ready to run but also concerned about him.

"I'm going to die anyway. Me going to prison would kill me or getting shot by them will. Here have this. It's something to remember me by." He said while handing me a key chain. It said "MUSIC IS MY GREAT ESCAPE."

And with that I give him one last look before I take off running to my house. I can't believe it. I'm finally free. I'm home. I can't wait to see everyone's face when I open the door. My shoulder starts to sting as the wind hits it. I know I'm loosing a lot of blood. I can feel it cause I'm getting a little dizzy.

I run up the steps and open the door. "MOM! DAD! I'M HOME! I MADE IT! I ESCAPED! HELLO!?"

I look everywhere but I can't find them. All of our stuff is gone. Oh no! They must have moved away. NOOOOOOOO! I start to cry. I'm feeling dizzy and my vision is going in and out from the blood loss.I then remember Leah's house is right down the road from mine. I can go to her' s. I run out the house and start to cross the road when all of a sudden I hear a scream, rubber screeching across pavement, and everything goes black.
