Today, the guys left for the tour, and I learned how much of a bitch my sister really was.

---

Sam POV

It was about nine at night, and I was with the guys at the airport, waiting for them to get in the line for security. I already said goodbye to Calum and Ashton. I was being held hostage in Luke's arms.

"It's going to be such a long couple of months," he said.

"I know, but it's okay. It'll be over before you know it," I said.

"Are you going to be okay while we're gone? You know, with your parents?"

"I'll be fine. Just don't get into any trouble," I said and flicked his nose.

"Not like I can. My mum is coming with us," he said.

"Then I don't have to worry. I hope you have a great time. You guys deserve this. Maybe one day you'll have your own tour," I said.

"One day. Until then, we'll be the biggest band no one's heard of," Luke laughed.

"Luke, we gotta go," Calum said.

"Bye, guys. Have a safe trip," I said, giving them one final goodbye.

Michael was standing off to the side with his hands in his pockets. He looked lost, almost like he was waiting. I brought up to the courage to walk over to him. He smiled. I could tell he wanted to hug me, but I knew he wouldn't.

"Hey," he said.

"Looks like you have to go. Hope the tour works out for you. Have a safe flight," I said.

"Sam-"

"Have a safe flight," I repeated and walked back to where my parents were.

It was a short, and not necessarily nice, goodbye. It was all I could say to him without lashing out or bursting into tears. I was being honest when I said I hoped it worked out, in spite of everything that happened between us.

Calum POV

The guys and I had just gotten to the hotel we were staying at. They split us up, so I was sharing a room with Michael. Something was off about him. He wasn't smiling or making lame jokes. He sat on his bed not saying a word.

"Mate, you okay?" I asked.

"Have you ever done something that seemed like a good idea at the time, but then it turned out to be the exact opposite?" He asked, still staring at the ceiling.

"Joining this band," I laughed.

"I'm being serious," he said.

"I'm sorry. Is this about Sam?"

"Yeah. And Zoe," he said.

"How did that even happen, Michael? I've been trying to wrap my head around it this entire time, and it still doesn't make sense."

He sat up and looked me in the eye. I'd seen many emotions displayed on Michael's face, but none of them looked like this. He carried the weight of a broken heart. The kind of hurt that left a mark. The kind of pain only given to you by your best friend.

"Zoe and I got together right after Sam was grounded. I went to talk to her, but Zoe stopped me. The next thing I knew, she started kissing me. And I let her kiss me. I stopped it before it went too far, but it was far enough for me to know I could never take it back. Zoe said that she would tell Sam if I didn't go out with her. But that's not the whole reason I agreed to do it," he said and paused for a second.

"I thought that Sam deserved someone better than me. She deserved someone who wouldn't cheat on her. I kept it from her for so long because I was scared of losing her even though it was inevitable. Before we went through security, Zoe broke up with me. She was just using me to make her ex jealous. I want to tell Sam, but she won't believe me. It's too late to fix things."

"You still love her?" I asked.

"More than anything. What do I do?" He asked.

He sounded so helpless. Just like he made Sam feel.

"Make her realize that you still love her and that you regret what you did," I said.

"How? How can I do that when she won't even talk to me?" He asked.

"Do something small, but make sure your message is direct. Sam's a smart girl. She'll know what you're trying to say," I said.

"Okay. I'll come up with something," he said.

"Good. Now, you might want to tell Luke and Ashton what you just told me because they still want to beat the shit out of you."

Sam POV

Around midnight, my phone buzzed and Calum's contact picture popped up.

"Hey, Cal. What's up?" I said.

"You know how much of a bitch your sister is, right?" He asked.

"Well, I have known her for the past seventeen years," I said, lightly laughing.

"Trust me, you're going to hate her even more after this."

Calum told me about what Michael confessed in their hotel room.

"Are you serious?" I asked in disbelief.

"Do you think I would joke about something like this? I've known Michael for years and I have never seen him like this. He needs you," Calum said.

"Calum, I can't. Not now at least," I said, playing with the ends of my hair.

"When, Sam? You can't let this go on forever," he said.

"I don't know, okay? I need time to forgive and forget. Just wait until you come home. Then, we'll see."

"Alright, alright," he sighed. "Love you, Sammy. I'll talk to you soon."

I hung up and stomped across the hall to Zoe's room. She was on her bed filing her nails. I went up and slapped her with all the strength I had in me. She held her hand against her face, which was already turning red.

"Ow! What was that for?" She cried.

"I've told you once and I'll tell you again. That's what you get when you hurt my friends," I said.

"What are you talking about?" She asked.

"Don't play stupid. I know what you did to Michael. I can't believe you would do something like that."

"What do you expect? Just look at him. He's a highschool dropout whose career is going to end before it even starts," she said.

I grabbed her shirt collar and pulled her towards me. Our faces were barely an inch away from each others. She looked scared.

"Insult any of my friends again, and I will personally drag you down to the depths of hell where you belong."
