The water cascaded down the falls, shimmering a light pink hue in the morning light.
There was a hooded figure outside, standing next to a gravestone, tucked in a little crook in the cliff.
The man removed the rotten flowers on the grave, and replaced them with a bunch of fresh white star lilies.
Something ran down the figure's face, but he wiped it away.
He glanced back at the falling water, and right through the hidden door of his home.
The man took a very ancient chalice out of his bag and filled it with water, before proceeding back to his home inside of the cliff.
The cave walls were sparkling with magic, binding codes keeping the place from eroding and crashing down.
The man took the chalice over to a table with various items spread across it's red surface.
He dumped the water into a small, bubbling pot, then strode over to a cabinet to retrieve a few small, crimson, berry shaped objects.
He walked back over to his table, and took out a knife.
Crushing the berries into a pulp, he threw the ingredient into the steaming water, the liquid turning a deep scarlet.
He then glanced around, looking for the last ingredient, but couldn't find it.
Dang, I'll have to go to the Empire to get some more. He thought, trashing the potion. It was useless now, it would be out for too long and would be spoiled by the time he got back.
He then glanced back over at the chalice, examining the rubies engraved on the side, complimenting the golden sheen.
He smiled, thinking of the friend who had given it to him.
But those days are in the past now.
He took the chalice and carefully placed it back in it's respectful cupboard.
He then turned around and strode outside, flipping up his hood as he did so. Maybe it was his enderman side slowly developing, but he couldn't stand the sun. It blinded him no matter how dim it was outside. And he also just didn't want anyone seeing him. He had had far too much experience with people wanting to experiment on his blood, or interpret him for their next kill.
He glanced up the the top of the waterfall, and teleported up the side.
There he plopped down and observed the sun as it slowly made it's way up the sky.
What put it there? He wondered. What put us here?
He levitated a stone out of the water below up to him, then tossed it into the river near him, letting it sweep back down the falls.
It was nice that he could finally use his powers for trivial purposes and not worry about needing it for anything else.
He glanced down at the pulsing amulet someone had given him so long ago.
He would go to the market today, but... The day was still young.

------------------------

A woman leapt through the trees, being chased by bandits.
She dashed into a clearing, saw nowhere to run, so she scaled a tree.
As she delved into the leafy canopy, the bandits crashed into the clearing.
They looked confused.
A woman in the tree next to her smiled, and put a finger to her lips, as she took a net from her coat pocket.
Suddenly, the group down below shrieked as a sticky net fell down on them.
"We win!" The other woman called cheerfully, jumping down from the tree, followed by the 1st woman.
"Okay, you did. Now let us out before we attract real bandits." A man grumbled.
The two women laughed, and untied them.
"I'm glad the emperor is finally dead, so we can do this again." The 1st woman smiled. "Just like old times."
The 2nd woman nodded. "It's nice."
The two friends and their group of 'bandits' headed back to their ship, to return to their morning duties.
"Spinel, get us the mops and the buckets." The 2nd woman called.
Spinel nodded, and ran off to get them, only to be stopped by a violent, hacking cough.
"Spinel, are you okay?" The woman yelled, running over to him, followed by her friend.
"Y-yes I'm f-f-fine." He chattered.
"He's got a fever, maybe worse." The 2nd woman murmured, feeling his forehead. "Where's the medicine?"
"We ran out yesterday when we used it on Fletcher, remember, m'am?" Another worker answered.
"Ah, yes, now I do." She murmured.
"Hey, could you get some more from the market today?" She asked the other woman.
"Of course." The 1st woman replied, getting up, and putting on a grey coat.
It was off to the market for her.

--------------------------

A blonde man returned inside the house after a morning of hunting.
He dropped the meat on the table, glancing over at the figure nestled in the crack of the couch.
"Armen, come over here!" He called towards the figure.
Suddenly, he was knocked over as the creature dove into him.
"Good boy Armen." He smiled, glancing up at the shimmering white and black scaly creature. "Now let me up!"
The creature purred (if dragons CAN purr) and released him.
The man grinned and petted the figure, before going over to the couch and sitting down with it.
The creature stared up at him with icy blue eyes full of curiosity and mischief.
The man glanced down at them for a split second, and an image filled his mind of someone he knew a while back... But that person was long gone.
He sighed, gave the creature one last pet before getting up and leaving him to lick himself.
The man strode over to his bedroom, and glanced at the necklace on the wall.
He smiled, and delicately took it off.
He stared at it, a tear slowly rolling down his face.
He then glanced over at a glass case on his bedside table.
Opening it, he took out a shimmering emerald, with an engraving.
He looked over the two objects, and smiled.
Those were the days... He thought. Now I really have nothing left...
Except for his pet. He didn't know what he'd do without Armen.
He had named it that because of the pet's appearance. It neared a very similar likeness to someone he used to know...
Suddenly, he heard a crash coming from the kitchen.
He dashed into the room and realized...
"Armen!" He shrieked. "Did you eat all of the blightberry mixture I made?! Those are super hard to find!"
The creature gave an innocent look, stifling a burp.
The man sighed. "Stupid dragon, now I'll have to go to the market to get more."
And off he went.
