I'm not a fan of water.

Actually, I can't swim.

You're probably thinking; Oh, that's so stupid. Cats hate water so she does. Oh, you're a geneous.

Yeah? Well I'm a messed up geneous!

Anywho, the minute I was under water, I realized that pool was deep! It was probably 7 feet! And since about 20 people were in there, when I went under the water, I was trapped. I couldn't get to the surface. After about 10 seconds of being under, someone kicked me in the face. Hard.

I don't think they meant to, but I was knocked back deeper in the water. I felt myself close my eyes and sink deeper and deeper.

Caydens' POV

After tossing Joy in the pool, I started laughing. I knew she would probably pop up and yell at me, but it was funny cause' it took her by suprise. When I finished laughing, she had been under the water for a minute. I couldn't see her though.

"Joy?" I muttered. I crouched by the pool and looked for her in the people.

I didn't see her. It had been a minute and 40 seconds by then. I started to panic. I couldn't find her.

"Where's Joy?!" I yelled at my friend Josh who was is the pool.

"Who the hell is Joy?" he yelled back.

"I threw her in the pool and she hasn't come up yet!!"

"What?" He exclaimed, then he dived under the water.

I jumped in and followed Josh. I immediately found her lying lifeless in the water. Josh was pointing and reaching for her. We got to her and helped her to the surface. But I saw her problem. There were too many people in the pool. There wasn't enough room to get out.

Finally, I shoved a person to the side and threw Joy to the surface.

"Hey, what's your problem?" the guy screamed at me.

"My best friend is dying!" I yelled.

He was quiet while Josh and me hauled Joy out of the pool.

I swear I heard the guy say, "That's a pretty good problem." but he went back to making out with some chick.

"Joy! Joy! Don't. Don't- Josh check her heart beat!" I ordered.

I clutched her hand while Josh checked her pulse.

"I don't..." he muttered. His face told me everything.

No pulse.

"Call the hospital! Someone!" I yelled. "It's okay, Joy. Don't die, Joy."

Joys' POV

I woke up to a high, steady beeping. I felt something warm and sweaty in my hand, and someone whispering my name over and over again. I opened my eyes and saw Cayden holding my hand and staring down at his shoes. I was in a hospital bed. No one else was in the room but Cayden and me.

"C-Cayden?" I whispered.

He looked up. His eyes were red and puffy so I asumed he was crying.

"Joy!" he whispered, a smile spreading on his face, but it quickly fell. "I am so sorry, Joy. I'm so sorry. You wouldn't be here if I didn't throw you in. I am so sorry."

"It's okay, Cayden." I soothed as he silently cried. "I'm fine. It's okay. I'm alive."

"I-I just don't understand." he whispered. "You should've died. You weren't breathing. Y-your heart beat..."

It was then I realized I did die.
