“Do you really have to do your grocery every single night you’re here to pick up your brother?” Bailey asked, wondering what I needed this time.
It was Thursday, the fourth night of the week I was doing my grocery shopping. Pushing my cart along every aisle was actually my excuse just to find which aisle she was working at tonight, and I found her in the chips section, arranging each product carefully, and writing some things on her notepad.
Good thing, they were fluffy, in case it decides to fall down on her.
“I’m a growing boy!” I said proudly, wearing my usual smirk in front of her. She rolled her eyes at my comment, and my body, which I was trying to flex to prove a point I was growing up.
“You eat a lot.” She observed as I placed different kinds of chips in my cart, in fact, it was the only thing I wanted tonight. My fridge was full of goodies I have been buying lately, and I think I needed some chips for my almost empty cupboard.
“My mates come over once in a while so I need to stack up.” I lied. The boys usually come over to Lenny’s place and not mine. But I think she might have bought it, unless of course, she was stalking me, and knew that it wasn’t true.
She nodded, and continued on working on the next shelves. With my push cart, I followed her, and stopped whenever she did.
“Why are you following me?” She turned around meeting my gaze, and I was completely amazed at how beautiful she was tonight.
Of course, she was wearing her uniform, but you know in the movies, when you meet the person you were crushing on for a long time pass by in front of you, and then the girl’s hair suddenly flow into the air like there was a massive fan in front of her?
Yeah, it kind of felt like that. She makes me feel like floating in the clouds, my heart was beating in unison with her. I wonder if she ever feels the same though, I bet that’s even better.
My thoughts were disrupted when I saw her hand waving in front of my face, waking me up from my dream. “Hey, are you zoning out on me again? Am I too boring for you?” She pouted. Even her pouty lips make me more interested in her.
I’m screwed.
“If you were boring, I wouldn’t be here.” I reasoned out, which was true. I wouldn’t be here at all, coming early to fetch my brother, and buy things I didn’t need.
“Then why do you keep staring into space?” She was confused, her head tilting to the side, sort of analyzing me.
I don’t know why but everything she does keeps me longing for her more. It makes my heart race up like someone has been running after me, but all in a good way.
“Because you’re funny when you’re annoyed.” I laughed and she threw a fit, just like the reaction I wanted. It was cute.
“Hey, stop with the slapping.” I playfully argued, throwing my hands in the air like I was surrendering to her pleas.
Well, maybe I was. The thing is, I may have known her for at least 5 days, but I love everything about her. The way she blushes when I give her compliments, turning into beet red tomatoes. The way she slaps my arms when I try to annoy her, giving her a few teasings and insults I didn’t mean. The way she giggles when I do something completely stupid. The way she fixes her uniform, or her clothes, the moment she stands up while working on the shelves on the bottom. The way she fixes her hair, whether it was in a messy bun, cute pigtails, or just down when she feels like having a bad hair day. The way she pouts when I ignore her. Everything about her makes me want to spend more time in this shop. It makes me want to be with her 24/7.
