* Bailey’s POV *

Ever since my last text conversation with Xavier, he hasn’t bugged me in the last three days. But then, he could have someone from his team following me everywhere, even though he knows I didn’t like to be watched. Though I knew that would be an impossible thing to ask. Heck, they have been snooping around my back my whole lifetime and I don’t think they would stop just because I didn’t want them to.

Why would he listen to me anyway?

Xavier is stubborn. And from what I have observed, he doesn’t want to be told, or even share his blessings to anyone, especially not Xander.

I have no idea why he hated Xander that much, or what made him think that his parents don’t love him. Sure, maybe at the first few months of Xander being with them, his parents were trying their best to let Xander feel to be at home. Being adopted is a bit hard especially if you’re joining an already established family. Then again, that’s just my opinion. My thoughts have no basis as I wasn’t able to experience the same thing.

“Hey Bailey…” John entered my thoughts and snapped me back into reality. Meeting his gaze, he was staring straight back at me, smiling widely.

“Hey.” I uttered. It was as if I just woken up from a deep sleep and confused at how he managed to enter my bedroom.

“Were you thinking about me?” He asked, battling his eyelashes.

I rolled my eyes. “Conceited.” I fake coughed as I walked past him and onto the next aisle.

He usually follows me wherever I went and I was getting used to it. However, he had other things in mind tonight. As I was looking over my shoulder, he wasn’t there. Turning around completely, he was nowhere in sight, even after I tried to get back to where I previously came from. Shaking my head, I turned around once again, only to find a snickering John in front of me.

“Hmm… and you were saying?” He raised one of his eyebrows at me, point taken.

Though really, if you went back to my previous thoughts, it was about Xavier and Xander. It’s just a matter of um… eh… missing John’s presence?

“Aww Bailey, just stop denying it!” John teased as he was chuckling behind me.

Kevin met us halfway, greeting both of us at the same time, although John got a fist bump. It was the first time I have seen him tonight as he has been everywhere around the shop, working on anything that goes wrong. Being in this shop for long, he was already training to be one of the future managers.

“Happy birthday, Kevin.” I greeted as John did the same.

“Good, I finally saw you two. Let’s all hang out after work. Where? I have no idea.” Scratching the back of his head, he was unsure of where to bring all of his guests. “John, would you like to suggest a place?”

“My friend owns a club in downtown. We could all go there.” John suggested, and yes, he was talking about Xander’s bar.

“Brilliant! Thanks man!” Kevin and John bumped their fists once again. Turning to me, he convinced me to come this time as ever since I met him, I haven’t allowed myself to hang out with them after work.

I simply nodded, knowing John would help out and persuade me until I say yes.

As we all were fixing up things in the employees’ section of the supermarket, all ready to go out and have some fun, Colin walked in, slumping on one side, glaring at Kevin. Apparently, since he was still a minor, he couldn’t go inside the club, even though the owner is John’s friend.
