Chapter 3 Training Pt. 2

Akira's POV

It was raining today . The commander told get the rain gear because today we were running in the rain with heavy bags carrying the three dimensional maneuver gear . But I noticed something while he was shouting insults at us . It was something I was used to sadly too well . Just like I have done before I was sent to this place . We were all being observed . I thought as much . He wanted to see who could be considered for the Top Ten ranking . Later on in the day after the rain stopped we were to slash the titan dummies' heads off . After setting up the materials we got to work .One after one we all went to try and slice off the nape of the neck me of course being the only one being able to slice off the whole head . The others around me were staring at me in awe . While I was going around I saw him glaring at me . I glared right back at him while continuing with my work .

Shadis' POV

I was writing down all of my observations of the trainees . All these recruits have an odd sense of passion , purpose , and strength . The one that stuck out the most was Cadet Akira Kamishiro . She is clearly hiding something . She doesn't socialize or show emotion a lot . The way she talks its like she's an insect . She refers to others around her by humans almost like she isn't one . Other than that she is highly intelligent and is considered to be the strongest among her group . However its seems like she is hiding her true potential strength on purpose .

Akira's POV

Later in the day we had physical combat . I was just standing off to the side watching everyone else . A blond girl named Annie soon joined up with me watching the others . She then turned toward me . " Oi . " " Hm ? " " It's pointless isn't it . " " Indeed it is . " " Look at them they are just being idiotic . This doesn't even count toward our final grade . " " That it doesn't but only those smart ones who want to get into the military police do that . " " So you want to get into the military police as well ? " " No , even if I did I couldn't . " " And why is that ? " " You know those three kids ? Armin , Mikasa , and Eren ? " She nodded a bit before I continued . " Their original guardians have past away due to the titan invasion of Shiganshina . So I've been deemed responsible to guard over them . They all want to join the Survey Corps. so that means I have to join too . " " That's quite unfortunate . " " I agree . " " You seem like a decent person . At least you don't seem like the rest of the idiots here. The name's Annie . You are ? " She then turned completely toward me with her hand out . I grabbed her hand and shook it and replied . " Hmm Akira . " Our nice conversation was interrupted when Shadis yelled at us for slacking off and paired us up with each other to spar . Me and Annie got into our fighting positions and then we started fighting each other . She started throwing punches and kicks . She was quick and was very experienced in fighting . The was also on the defensive now unlike at the beginning of our fight . But I soon realized her fighting pattern . She kept aiming toward my head . After I noticed her fighting pattern I then countered her with a couple of punched a high kicks toward her head as well . She dodged a few of my attacks , but at the end she got hit in the temple with the back of my left foot . She then fell to the ground in pain . I offered her a hand a picked her up . I noticed that the other trainees were looking at us while this was going on and were still looking at us . I turned toward them and gave them one of my terrifying stares . " If you want to leave with all your body parts intact I suggest that you look away and go back to what you were doing . " After I said that they all turned away and shivered in fear . After that Annie said that she was going to go and walk off the injury I gave her . She then got stopped by Reiner and Eren . I didn't hear what they were saying but I noticed that her expression darkened into a murderous look . She got into the fighting stance that I was quite familiar with and kicked both Reiner's and Eren's asses . I heard her saying the same thing she said to me about how this training is all useless and then soon walked away leaving mostly Eren confused and in a bit of pain .

Dinner came around and I sat next to Annie . We were just talking about humanity , human thought processes and their idiocy to act on instinct . While I did consider her to be very close to be I considered her to be somewhat inhumane . It was like she was a ghoul like me . I didn't sense her being one so she can't be . Yet I still know that she isn't who she say she is . After a while of talking I noticed Eren being an idiotic blockhead and trying to fight Jean over something . After a while it got into a physical altercation . But he did something I didn't expect him to do . He did Annie's move and flipped him over . After that huge crash Shadis came in and started to question us on the noise he heard . Then Mikasa raised her hand and said quote ' Sasha farted sir .'

We then went to bed then the next day when we woke up we were called to the capital to salute the Top Ten in our class . " DO YOU HAVE HEART ! " " SIR ! " " AS OF THIS MOMENT YOU HAVE THREE OPTIONS OPEN TO YOU ! CHOOSE WISELY ! THE GARRISON REGIMENT WHOSE JOB IS TO REINFORCE THE WALLS ! THE SCOUT REGIMENT WHO RUNS OUT THE TITANS IN HOPES TO TAKE BACK WHAT WAS ONCE OURS ! AND THE MILITARY POLICE REGIMENT WHOSE JOB IS TO MAINTAIN LAW AND ORDER UNDER ORDERS FROM HIS ROYAL MAJESTY ! THOSE CADETS ELIGIBLE FOR THE MP HAVE ALREADY BEEN NAMED OTHERS TAKE A LOOK AT THE TOP OF YOUR CLASS ! THE FOLLOWING ARE :

When we came back a lot of people were celebrating a drinking . Trying to believe that they survived their training . Then Mikasa , Armin , Eren , and I left to get away from the crowd a talked over what regiment they were going to be in . After that me and Mikasa were assigned to the rear guard to help the other garrison . But before that we got a good view of the Scout Regiment get back from their expedition . They were all looking in over in awe at the soldiers come back from their journey . Eren was just yearning to be like them . But what me and Mikasa didn't notice while we were gone is that the Colassal Titan came back and made a hole breaking Wall Rose .

What all of us didn't know is that know from this day starts the count down to

division , destruction , and peril , within the walls.
