The phone on the table started to vibrate. What is happening?
'BJ' was written on the screen, a red and green button was shown. I was observing the smartphone, not knowing what to do because I have never used such technology before.
"Wren. Why aren't you answering your phone when I am calling you? are you trying to avoid me?" a small sound from the phone said. It was 'The blood Joker'.
"No, not really... I just didn't know what to do..." I told the hacker.
"Why is your voice so low, can't I increase the volume?" I asked loudly to make sure that I was heard.
"Are you kidding? Place the phone next to your ear" The person said. I did as I was told.
"Yeah, and now what do I do with this?" I asked unsurely.
"Don't tell me that... you have never used a cell phone before?" The hacker asked in disbelieve."This is actually my first time using one," I told him. A loud gasp from the other side of the cell phone was heard.
"Poor thing! So you really have been isolated from the outside world!?" The hacker said in shock."This is so cool, I didn't know that cell phones could answer by itself"
"Actually... about that... I hacked into your phone, you don't want to know the details, believe me, only hackers understand this. But let me tell you this, phones can NOT answer a call by itself"
"Oh," I simply responded, not knowing what else to say."You know if you don't hurry up you will be late for school" BJ stated.
"Wait for what? since when did I start to go to school?"
"Young lady, don't tell me that you didn't listen when I AND my boss mentioned this?" He asked, sounding like someone who was faking his manners."You did? I don't remember" I said hoping for that the whole school thing was only a misunderstanding, or of some sort.
"Well, you're not human if you do not make any mistakes," He told me after a long sigh.
"Now. If I was you, I would walk out of the door, or else you will be late. There are only about 40 minutes left for school to start." He explained.
"Isn't that a lot...?"
"it is, but the walk takes 35 minutes, so you better hurry up young lady. The clock is ticking~" The hacker said, singing the last part."You see that bag on the floor, right next to the front door? That's your school bag. Today your lunch was made for you, but next time and forward, you will be the one making it yourself. Now go out the door already!" He started. This dude probably likes to talk a lot. I took the keys on the table and then walked out of the apartment, locking the door after me. The hacker gave me the directions and I did nothing but to listen carefully and walking in those directions he gave me. Those 35 minutes passed by me, not feeling like the time was passing by in a fast speed. I was standing few feet away, face to face with what you call 'a school' these days. In my dictionary that is defined as a prison. It was like I was getting seasick when I saw the school. I had too many bad experiences here. It's not like I hate studying, or all the people there... there are just some people I really feel sick to be among. People who treat others badly or poorly out of no reason. Even if they had a reason, they still shouldn't make that person suffer.
"Remember your name is Wren Washington. Your parents are working overboard, so you live alone if anyone asks" The hacker said before hanging up.
"Wait!" I said, knowing that it was too late, but did it anyway.
"You heartless jerk, how could you leave me like this!?" I mumbled, feeling like crying. I forcefully dragged my feet towards the school, opening the door before entering. I really feel like throwing up for some reason, maybe I am too nervous?I entered the school, not knowing what to do after that. I am so lost.
I walked slowly, hoping to buy some time so I could figure out what way I should be taking. Wait a second. I am the new kid, I have the right to get lost! But why is this so awkward for some reason!? I feel like I'm getting tortured by awkwardness!"em... ex-excuse me miss... do you know by any chance... where the principal's office is?" I asked a girl who was getting some books out of a locker.
"Ahh, yes of course. It's that way and then you turn to the left" She said while pointing to a direction.
"Thank you very much!" I said happily to her before walking towards the place she was talking about. She was really nice, that lightened up my mood a bit. I stood in front of the door. I can't take this anymore. I want to go back to that apartment again. Will they really notice that I am absent from school? Don't be stupid, of course, they will. You have a hacker keeping an eye on you.I slowly knocked on the door before entering.
"Excuse me, is this the principal's office?" I asked and then saw a man sitting on a chair behind the desk. Jonathan Willies the desk nameplate said."Yes, it certainly is. You must be a new student, no?" He said looking at me with a small smile.
"Yeah, I am Wren R- I mean Wren Washington" I corrected myself. I almost blew my cover. The principal explained everything to me, about the rules and all. I, of course, could only take half of the information with me, due to the lot of information he was giving me at once.
"Just follow the schedule and you will be fine," He said giving me a smile. He probably could see how confused I was. I am not surprised, I don't think I could get more obvious then what I already am."Thanks" I responded with a smile before heading out of the office. I really don't understand how I was so afraid before, these people are just normal people-
"Alexander! Please wait up! I AM SORRY OKAY!" A girl said, running after some dude who was running away from her. I take it back. This place is scary. What if she is a bully!? No way, it's way too weird to get bullied by one girl, shouldn't there at least be two? You know, like the bad cop and the good cop? No, wait. I think there is something wrong with my way of thinking.
They both ran into a classroom. Am I starting in an elementary school again, but this time it's for older people?
I am glad that I probably won't be in the same class. A big grin was forming in my face. Yes, I am probably going to a class next door. There is no way I am going to go to the same class as a bully. No, no, I am just too nervous.I looked at the paper the principal gave me. I looked at where I was supposed to be in. I double checked the paper and the classroom, feeling like crying again. I quickly entered the classroom, giving the teacher the papers. The teacher frowned at me for a second.
"You know, normally when a new student comes, the TEACHER is the one to greed them and show them the classroom. I guess that I was too slow and made you wait for a long time? Well anyway, welcome to the class." He said."class," he said out loud, making the whole class quite. I could feel that almost all eyes were looking at me. I know that I am fantastic and all, but I must say that I really dislike getting too much attention. It makes me want to run away, just like a scared animal running for the sake of its life.
"we have a new student. This is miss Wren Washington"
"take a seat Miss. Washington, class is about to start." he said to me, pointing at an empty seat in the back. I slowly walked across the classroom and sat on the chair, feeling really extra, especially because I was in the corner.__________________________________________________________________
