                (JOEYS P.O.V)

Soon after that devil girl left, my Aunt and cousin arrived.

Riley is so cute. I absolutely love her.

We're all sat at the table and mom is standing by the stove still mixing some food.

"So Joseph, tell us about school. Getting good grades?" Aunt Hannah asks.

I laugh, seems like every family member asks the same question.

"Yeah," I mutter , "good grades but school is still hell."

"Awe. Well that's good. What about Austin? Is he doing well? I heard his friend was in the hospital. What happened?" Aunt Hannah asks, putting her arm on Riley's chair.

I look over to mom and she's already looking at me

"Well Hannah, it was just a small little accident. Nothing to worry about. Now I forget, do you like your chicken baked or fried? I have both, because I forgot." Mom waits for an answer, clearly changing the subject.

"Oh, well baked is fine but I think you forgot-."

"Riley is a vegetarian. Yes I remember." Mom cuts her off. I laugh.

"Riley. Tell us about you. How is it going with the change? Is anyone making fun of you?" Mom asks, setting the cooked food on the table.

Riley laughs, her voice still a little man-like, but has that feminine ring to it. I love it.

"Everything is fine. Besides this one girl who acts like she hates me but its not that hard to tell she likes me" she finishes.

"Awe" I whisper.

Apparently too loud because Riley heard me and smacked my arm.

"Shut up" she pouts.

"Awe. Riley you're too cute" I say poking her cheek. She moves her face away and pouts at me.

"I can still beat you up. You know that right?" She asks.

I hold my hands up in surrender. I don't not wanna get beat up by Riley.

Man, she used to be on the football team and shit.

Yeah, no.

Well, she always had the small body, and she's really thin, but back when she played football, she was the person who tackled and man, she was a beast.

"So how's transitioning? Everything going fine?" Mom blurts out.

I quickly dart my eyes towards her giving her a shut up glare. I look over towards Riley and she laughs.

"'Mom." Austin speaks for the first time in forever.

I almost forgot he was here, is he okay?

"Yes, everything is fine. I decided not to get the surgery though. There's no need." She finishes.

I nod, thankful that she's smart.

The family took her coming out very well. Kind of, she's not allowed to family events really....so I guess it didn't go that well. And I forget what its called when she doesn't want to have sex, asexual? Maybe. I don't know. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Riley snaps in my face to bring me back to life.

"Sorry, I was thinking. What happened?" I ask.

Everyone laughs at me and continues to stuff their faces.

Riley and I have a close bond because we're only two months apart. My little baby cousin Riley. Awe. She's so cute! Her hair, is a auburn brown, and right now she has her tips dyed a lighter orange/red.We get our hair styled practically the same way, swopped up in the front.
