(Joseph's P.O.V)
Kyle....
I slowly lift my head to see Kyle looking at me weakly.
"Oh my god" I stand up and hug him.
He slowly wraps his arms around my torso.
I hug him tightly as I cry.
"W-why are you crying?" He whispers.
His words make me cry even harder.
"Kyle I'm so sorry. I'm the reason why you're- you're here" I pull back and look at him.
He shakes his head, "id rather be here than see you here" he puts his head back on the pillow.
He must be in pain.
"S-should I call a doctor?" I ask.
He shakes he head again. "I don't feel pain right now." He smiles at me.
Hes lying.
He doesn't want me to feel bad for him.
"Your dad is outside..." I say-glancing at the door.
Kyle slowly turns his head towards the door.
"S-should I get him?" I ask.
Kyle nods his head.
I quickly run towards the door and open it.
My mom and Kevin both look up quickly from the waiting chairs.
"H-hes a-awake" I cry.
Both my mom and Kevin stand up quickly and we all rush back into the room.
Kevin walks straight up to his son and gets on his knees
"I'm so sorry. I wasn't the best father and I want you to know I'm sorry. I'm the one that's supposed to be sorry. I probably gave you an awful childhood and I'm sorry. I'm sorry-"
Kyle cuts him off by slowly putting his hand on Kevin's shoulder.
"I looked up to you as a child" Kyle whispers slowly.
Kevin stares at Kyle for a moment before putting his head down and crying.
Kyle looks over me and my mom and sees us both crying.
"Kyle, sweetie. How do you feel?" My mom quickly wipes her tears.
"F-fine. Just a little, weak?" He puts his head back on the pillow.
"Do you wanna try and eat something? I brought soup" my mom smiles weakly.
I look over and notice a bag full of food that I didn't notice before.
"What a-about the d-doctors?" He asks.
"We don't have to tell them" she smiles and heads over to grab the soup,Kevin going to help her.
I walk over to Kyle and help him sit up. I then proceed to go get him a glass of water.
"I-I heard you" he whispers to me.
"What?" I ask, confused.
"You said you l-loved me back" he smiles weakly.
Tears start to fill my eyes again.
"I do" I tell him.
"I'm glad" he smiles and laughs, resting his head back on the pillow again, sipping the water.
"Kyle you're strong, you know that?" My mom says, opening containers.
He smiles and finishes his water.
