A/N: I'm sososososo sorry how long this took. School... some serious personal issues and so forth. I work a lot now, I only get 3 days off this month and I've already had two of them, but I will try my best to upload. I had to move away from home for this job and the internet connection here is so bad. But as I said, I will do my very best!

Here it is! Please vote, fan and tell me what you think! I would appreciate it!

Chapter 9: Repel with laughter

A month has passed since I walked the floors of Hogwarts for the first time. I’ve got good friends, a best friend, a boyfriend, good grades so far and I’m safe. But I’m not happy. I’m the exact opposite. My mother isn’t safe, and I have been forbidden to leave the school grounds. Of course I couldn’t tell them why I needed to go, and they didn’t even try to understand. I’m leaving tomorrow night. I already found a way to “borrow” a broom from the shed near the quiddich field. I’ll be wearing a black hoodie and a pair of jeans. It will be just after two in the morning. Nobody will stop me. I need to go and safe my mother. I’ll take her back with me and we’ll live a nice and quiet life here in Britain.

I lay in bed, not being able to sleep even though I would need all my strength for tomorrow. I was thinking about what Harold might have done to my mother. He didn’t go easy on me, but I’m just a kid, so he might go harder on my her.

The sun rose and I had barely closed my eyes the entire night. I had bags under my eyes and both felt and probably looked like crap. I smeared some make-up on my face and put on my shirt and robes. Fortunately there were no rules on what kind of shoes I should wear so I put on my black and white converse. I had only seen two other students here wearing shoes from the same brand, and both of them were muggle-born.

I slowly made my way to the third floor where I had Defense Against the Dark Arts class with Professor Lupin. He was very smart, and even though he sometimes looked like he just fought a troll he always seems to be able to pull it off nicely. He hadn’t talked to me much after he was asking me about my old school, but I didn’t mind. I didn’t want to talk about it.

Henri tagged along with me. I hadn’t even seen her when I first attended this class in the fall. She knows Henri is mostly a boy’s name but she hates Henrietta. “It feels too uptight and silver-spoon-in-the-ass-ish,” as she puts it. We’re pretty close now, even though I’ve only known her for a month. She’s the only one that knows about my cutting, and she doesn’t really mind. I can see it hurts her, but she spends a lot of energy staying strong for me and distracting me.

“Good day!” Professor Lupin said as we entered the classroom along with the rest of the class. The tables have been cleared to the sides and there was a big empty space in the middle of the classroom, except for an ancient-looking wardrobe. It was beautiful; it had stained mirrors on the doors and pretty carvings around them. The class’ reflection was blurry and stained. I really love antique things. The rust, the splintered wood; they have stories that might not be known to anyone. They keep secrets.

Lupin didn’t say anything for a couple of seconds. A burst of sound came from the wardrobe as it tilted slightly. It became steady again but the class had been startled and now became silent.

“Does anyone here have a clue as to what might be in there?” The professor asked and looked us over. A pained expression crossed his face for an instant as his gaze fell upon me. He soon recovered and waited for an answer.

“May I point out to you that we don’t see through things?” an annoying Slytherin said. Why do we take so many classes with them?
