"LUCAS ROBERT HEMMINGS!" I yell to my boyfriend. Luke rushes up the stairs to check on me.

"What the hell is going on!?" He says worriedly, he also sounds kind of annoyed.

"My water broke."

"Okay London, here's baby Ellie Hemmings," the nurse hands me Luke's and I's baby. I reach towards her impatiently.

"Luke wake up!" I whisper to the man in the corner of the room sleeping. He looks up at me and Ellie. He quickly stands up and walks toward us.

"Here let me see my princess," Luke smiles reaching for his daughter. I place her in his arms and he starts to tear up. "Hi Ellie, it's daddy. I love you so much. I'll protect you in this cruel world. Especially from your uncles, Calum, Ashton, and Luke. They're a bit crazy. But don't you worry because they love you too. Everyone loves you with all their hearts. You matter so much to so many people."

"MOMMMMMMMMMMMMM!" I heard my 16 year old daughter yell from her room. My husband Luke was turning 37 next week and right now he's pretty pissed off.

"Yes El?" I ask as I open the door to her room. She's wearing a casual dress and her hair curled.

"Does this look good for my date?" She asks.

"I think it looks lovely... The dress is a bit short. I don't have a problem with it, but you might want to clear that with your father," I say. Immediately she groans.

She walks out of her room and to Luke's office, "what do you think daddy?" She says, using the puppy eyes that Luke can never resist even to this day... I thought.

Luke starts to laugh, "Nice try. Go put some pants on with that shirt."

"Dad its a dress."

"Well it's short enough to be a shirt, now go change," Luke orders. I walk up next to my daughter.

"Luke let her wear it it's not even that short. Ashton is chaperoning anyways, he won't let any silly business be done."

Luke looks between my daughter and me. "Fine. But curfew is 10 pm."

I sit next to Luke's hospital bed. "Hey baby," I smile. Today was his 37th birthday. "I don't know if you can hear me or not, but I love you. They found they guy who hit you yesterday. Stupid drunk bastard. They tell me you are dying but you aren't going to leave me right?" I let out a smile of denial. Then I start crying.

"Mom," Ellie says to me. "Mom if daddy can hear you... He wouldn't want to hear you crying."

My Ellie is strong. She's independent and brave. She's intelligent, top 10 of her class. "You're right baby girl."

She lets go of me and sits on her daddy's bed. "Daddy? That boy I went on a date with last week, he's a complete loser. I didn't plan on going out with him again daddy, so don't worry." She laughs. Looking down for a minute. "Daddy I know you'll be there when I graduate. And when I walk down the isle. You'll be in my heart daddy." She starts to cry. "So don't let me stop you from being at peace. I know you're in pain. So mom and I will be okay if you go." Ellie lies down next to Luke. Holding on tight to her daddy. "I love you so much daddy."

With those words escaping her mouth my love flatlines. My Luke was gone. I felt myself break. I start crying uncontrollably, my daughter gets up and walks toward me. I wrap her in a hug and we cry together. My husband, her father, my love, was no longer alive. But he lives on in us.

I walked down the street like I usually do every morning. Ellie was away at college with her boyfriend. Usually Michael, Calum, or Ashton come to keep me company every day, but today they can't. I continue walking and as I turn the corner it starts to sprinkle. Funny because it hasn't rained since Luke was alive. Then it all happens in a blur. I hear a car horn. I turn around and see a car coming straight at me. The impact throws me in the air and I feel my lungs burning. Gasping for air. But then I see the outline of someone I hadn't seen in three years. My love was there as it started raining and the sound of the ambulance was distant. I knew it wouldn't get to me on time. But that's okay. I'm going with my Luke. Something that happens...

Every time it rains.
