There's a time and a place for all this
This is not the place for all thisLani
Here I am standing at Lauren's door in a super tight red dress. Normani insisted I wear it when I insisted on wearing sweat pants.
"Normani and Kehlani!" Lauren said my name in shock. "Wow, you look so good. Come in." she told us.
I watched Normani walk in before me, handing Lauren the bottle of wine she brought as a gift. I took a deep breath and walked in, instantly welcomed by the smell of vanilla. I remembered vanilla was Lauren's favorite scent of all time.
I strutted down the hall to the kitchen in these fucking heels normani also made me wear. I stopped in my tracks when I heard that familiar giggle. It belonged to Camila. She was here.
The room fell silent when I stepped into the room. Camila's eyes quickly landed on me.
Of course Dinah was here, glued to Camila's side.Camila
Here she was. The love of my life actually standing in front of me. Am I dreaming?
"Lani?" I chocked out still not able to believe it. I'm surprised she actually came."That would be me." She replied.
"What are you doing here?" The girl next to me spoke up. I forgot Dinah was next to me.
Lani's face hardened. "Because I can. Problem?" Her and Dinah never had a moment to talk it so of course tension was there.
Dinah ignored her, grabbing my chin, spinning my head around to kiss my lips.
Kehlani rolled her eyes, letting out a dark chuckle. Normani then pulled her by her arm, bringing her over to the table we were currently siting at. Normani took the seat in front of dinah, leaving the only seat available in front of me... which Lani took.
She stared me down as she took her seat. Kehlani was always intimidating, but never to me. I guess because I've seen her at her worst and best times.
"You look good." I complimented her.
"I know." She replied dryly, earning nudge from Normani.
I laughed and just nodded my head. I felt something touch my neck and looked over to see Dinah giving me neck kisses.
"Oh guys," Lauren groaned. "Can you guys continue that later."
"Oh we will." Dinah winked, causing me to blush.
"I'm gonna need a lot more of this to get through this tonight." I heard Kehlani say. She grabbed the wine bottle, pouring more into her glass.
-
"So Lani," Lauren started up the conversation again. "What have you been up to these days?"
I cut my grilled chicken not showing any interest but I honestly was. I wanted to know how my ex girlfriend was doing without me.
"Um, I've been working on my music lately." I heard her say.
When we were dating, she always told me that she wanted to make music. I, as the girlfriend, should've been more supportive. That's another wrong I have to right.
"Camila makes music." Dinah interrupted. "She's always making these cute little songs on her guitar. Right babe?" She beamed, looking at me.
"Yeah." I said quietly, and nodded.
Lani rolled her eyes again.
"Of course with her all new guitar," Dinah added. She then eyed Kehlani. Uh-Oh. "Since you did throw her guitar out the window."
Kehlani cockily raised her glass to her red lips, taking a drink of her wine. "It was a shame it missed."
Ouch. That hurt.
"Are you never not a bitch?" Dinah scoffed. I quickly grabbed her hand as a way of telling her to stop.
"Don't use that tone with me, hoe." Kehlani growled.
"What was that? Don't speak 'bitch' my bad." Dinah is only making things worse for everyone.
Lani quickly stood up from her chair. "I'll translate for you then." She smiled, not a genuine smile, more a mean, nasty one. "I'll beat your ass if you say some shit like that to me again."
"Let's go then." Dinah stood up as well. I quickly grabbed her arm and tried to pull her down.
"Dinah!" I yelled. She ignored me as she kept her glare on my ex.
"Kehlani, stop." Normani said. "Let's just go."
"We will," She stood her ground. "After I beat this bitch."
The only angered Dinah more. She grabbed her glass and flung the liquid, making it land on Kehlani's face and dress. I gasped instantly scolded Dinah.
Kehlani lunged at Dinah but was quickly pulled back by Normani.
"Put me down now!" I heard Kehlani scream as she was being dragged away. "She wanna test me? Let the bitch do it!"
I dropped Dinah's hand and jogged out to go check on Lani. I knew Dinah was not going to apologize so I was.
"I shouldn't have fucking come!" She yelled. Was she... is she crying? I quietly stepped outside. She indeed was crying.
I felt my heart tug. I used to hate it when she cried. She hated crying just as much as I hated seeing her cry.
But her crying was different. It wasn't a sad cry it was more of angry cry.
"You!" She pointed her tattooed hand when she saw me. "Nothing good every comes from you. I never wanted to see you again and here I am." She chuckled.
"Kehlani, I'm sorry." I apologized.
"Sorry? For what? It's way too late for sorries." She told me.
I looked down at my hands, not knowing what to say next. And seeing her cry brings back the memories of the times that I made her cry- way too many.
I heard a car engine start and saw Normani getting in the driver's seat, quickly driving down the road.
This is yet another wrong I have to right.
