"C'mon, Sky, i told you i don't have it" Soda whined. I smiled down at him.
"I know" I replied.
"Then, can you get off of me?" I put a finger on my chin ans pretended to think.
"I don't know, should I?" Soda groaned. I was sitting on his back because i thought he took my candy bar. But, he didn't. Either way, I still sat on him. Out of nowhere, I was grabbed by the waist and picked up. "Hey!" It was Darry. He set me down."The babies are cryin', go check on them" he said. I nodded and walked over to my room. But, I didn't hear any crying. I slowly opened the door, careful not to make a noise. And what I saw, shocked me to death, sort of. Two-Bit was here, putting the babies to sleep. I smiled at the scene.
"Awe, ain't that the cutest thing ever" I cooed. He suddenly spun around and looked surprised.
"Um... th-they were crying... and I wanted to get some sleep, so I-I-I....." I laughed.
"It's alright, it's kind of cute to see you getting close to the twins" I said, walking over to him. He smiled at me and blushed.
"When Jacquie grows up, I bet she'll be a sweetheart, just like her mother" he complimented.
"You really think so?" He nodded.
"I think I'll call her... Baby Girl" he said.
"I like that" I replied. He placed Jacquie on the bed next to Chance. The, out of nowhere, I hear someone screaming from the living room. Is that El? I run in, Two-Bit following behind, and I see shocks me. El's skin was bruised and her hair was all messed up, and blood trickled down from the side of her lip. I went up to her.
"El, what happened?" She looked up at me from the couch, her eyes welling up with tears.
"D-Dallas... h-he's with Sylvia" she managed to say. My heart stopped for a moment.
"Where?"
"A-at Buck's, I-I think he's drunk..." she replied. This worried me. I have to get over there as fast as I can. "Hurry, Sky. Who know's what h-he could do." I began for the front door.
"Skylar!" I stopped and turned around. "What about the babies?" Darry was right.
"Ponyboy, Johnny, can you look after them for a while, please?" They both nodded.
"I'll go, too" El said, as she began getting up.
"No, El. You stay here" I responded.
"I need to go, no use arguing" she stated. I sighed and walked right out the door and into the truck. Darry was driving us. Two-Bit was in the back with Soda and El. My heart was thumping through my chest through out the whole ride. Would Dally cheat on me? I mean, I did have his kids, so would he? These thoughts circulated through my head.
Before I knew it, we arrived at Buck's. I got out and practically ran inside. The gang was behind me. Dallas was nowhere in sight, so I began heading upstairs, when I was stopped by Buck Merril.
"Whoa, little lady, what's the rush?" A smirk played on his lips as he asked that.
"I need to see Dallas, now" I replied as I started walking past him. But, he grabbed my wrist and stopped me.
"Can't do that, Miss. He's busy right now" he replied. I tried pulling my hand out of his grip.
"Let me go, I have a right to see him" I said. He pushed me towards the door.
"Like I said, he's busy" he responded, his voice sounding stern and mean.
"Don't you dare push Sky, she's Dallas's girlfriend!" Soda stood behind me, along with the gang.
"You stay out of it, kid" Buck said. They went at it, back and forth, and the rest of the gang joined in. I took this as my chance to slip upstairs, which worked perfectly. I walked past many rooms, until I came upon Dallas's. And there was certainly someone in there. It was a girl's voice.
"I missed the touch of your skin, Dallas" she said passionately. I pushed the door open and felt my heart drop to my stomach. Sylvia was on top of a shirtless Dally. On the other hand, she was wearing nothing but underwear and a bra.
Dallas suddenly pushed Sylvia away.
"Get off of me, Sylvia!" I place a hand over my mouth as I felt tears well up in my eyes. It was too late. I already saw them, I knew what they were planning to do. I ran out of there and down the stairs. From behind me, I could hear Dallas coming after me, calling out my name. I ran all the way into Soda's arms and hugged him, burying my face in his chest.
"Sky, what happened?" Suddenly, I heard someone come to a stop a few feet away from us.
"Sky, it's not what you think." It was Dallas. I pulled away and faced him.
"It's exactly what I think, there's no denying it, Dallas" I said, feeling the first tear roll down my cheek. "I guess I'm the fool for falling for your tricks. I don't want to see you ever again!" That's when Sylvia ran down, now wearing pants and buttoning up her shirt.
"Dallas, why'd you run, baby?" She wrapped her arms around his waist, but Dally pushed her away.
"I told you to leave me alone, Sylvia!" He yelled.
"I want to go home, Soda" I said. He nodded and got a hold of my hand. When Dallas grabbed by arm.
"Sky, please don't go" he pleaded. I ripped my arm out of his grasp and stepped back.
"It's done, Dallas. I hope you're happy... you broke me.... you tore me down, used me, and left me" I cried.
"Sky-"
"I actually thought you cared about me, I believed you when you told me you loved me.... I believed every one of your lies! I should of known this would happen... Have a happy life, Dallas" I said, before heading towards the door wiping away my tears.
"Skylar, please, wait" he begged, grabbing my arm again. Soda pushed him away from me.
"Man, I've wanted to do this for the longest time now" he mumbled, before punching Dallas in the jaw. I gasped and covered my mouth. Dally fell to the floor with a loud 'thump'. I grabbed Soda's fore arm, before he could punch him again.
"Soda, please, let's just go" I pleaded. He wrapped his arms around me, and I hugged him back. Darry patted my back reassuringly, as the gang led me back to the truck, along with El.
I should of known better...
