"Hey, that was not funny" I said, looking directly at Sodapop. He simply smiled. Man, I hate the fact that I can't stay mad at him for longer than 5 minutes. It's all in the smile. The one he always uses when he knows he did something wrong. I crossed my arms.

"It is funny, it's hilarious" he replied. I shook my head, causing drops of water shoot around.

"I've learned not to trust you" I said, my teeth chattering. The freezing winter breeze, wasn't really helping my case much. I felt myself getting goosebumps.

"Well, next time, don't do what I say" he responded.

"I. Don't. Like. You" I said, leaning forward, not taking my eyes off of him.

"Of course you do, you're my cousin, you're supposed to" he stated.

"You know, you're lucky I don't kick some sense into right now, boy" I said. He raised his eyebrows at me, and backed away a little. I began heading home, the place where I can get warmed up. Soda followed.

"Wait, Sky!" I didn't even turn around. Then, something was placed on me. It was Soda's shirt. He had an under shirt on, so yea.

"What are you doing?"

"It's not a jacket, but at least it helps" he replied. I slightly smiled at him. He placed an arm around me, and pulled me closer, trying to keep me warm. I shivered in the cold, winter air. Why the heck is it so cold? I don't think this is the ice age, so why am I freezing to death? The house was in view by now, but I could already feel my feet growing numb.

"I. Can't. Feel. My. Feet" I said through chattering teeth.

"I'm sorry, Sky." I turned to Soda. He was staring straight ahead.

"For what? Tricking me into jumping in the lake?" He nodded. "It's okay, no harm done." Today, Soda thought that maybe, he should take me to the lake. I thought it was a good idea, at first. When we got there, I saw that the lake was beautiful, but, Soda made me jump in the lake. It was a dare, and I told him I would if he did. I jumped in, but he didn't. Worst thing ever. The water was way below freezing point, I'm surprised that I didn't turn into an ice cube.

"What happened?" Darry asked, as soon as Soda and I walked through the door. The rest of the gang was there, and I felt embarrassed.

"C-can we w-worry bout th-that lat-er, I'm f-fre-ezing to d-death here" I said.

"Sky, why don't you change into something... not wet, while I talk to Soda" Darry said. I nodded and left the living room. The first thing I did, was look in the mirror. My lips were almost blue. I shook my head and changed really quickly. I also put my hair up in a bun, then walked out. When I came back out, Soda was drenched from head to toe. My eyes bulged out of my head.

"What happened to you?" He turned to Darry, who was smiling as though he was amused.

"I sprayed him with the water hose" he stated. I laughed.

"Yea, yea, yea, it isn't that funny" Soda mumbled. I stopped laughing for a moment.

"Your right" I sarted,"it's hilarious!" I began laughing again. And so did the rest of the gang. Soda looked down at the floor, and I instantly felt bad. Even though he's wet, I hugged him tightly.

"Awe, Soda, don't get all butt hurt" I joked. I felt him hug me back. "Hey, at least we're even now."

"I know" he replied.

"Okay guys, time for bed, we have a busy day tomorrow" Darry announced. I pulled back and looked at him.

"Don't you think it's a bit too early?"

"What are you talking about? It's nearly midnight" he replied.

"Exactly, too early" I said with a smile.

"Get to bed, Sky" he said with a chuckle. I walked into the room I was sharing with Soda and layed down on the bed. The cold from outside, somehow came in and now tortured me. I shivered as I wrapped myself with the blankets.

A few seconds later, I heard Soda walk in. I knew it was him, so I didn't even bother checking. He was doing something, because I heard things being opened and tossed and stuff like that. Small noises. Then, he got into bed.

"Sky, you cold?" he asked, a few minutes later.

"Why'd you ask?"

"Cause, you're shaking" he stated. Am I really? I haven't even noticed it.

"Yea" I replied. That's when I felt his warm arms wrap around me. I got closer to him, and just layed there. It helped, but it was a bit awkward to be this close to one of my cousins. I mean, it was pretty weird. Hope nobody finds us like this, I would be so embarrassed.

"Hey, wake up!" I sat up quickly, in reaction to the loud voice in my ear. There was a loud thump next to the bed. I looked, and saw Soda on the floor.

"Soda-" I started.

"I'm okay, don't worry" he said, interrupting me.

"I don't care, you scared me half to death" I joked. He shook his head, before pulling the covers and making me fall onto the  floor too. I landed right next to him, seeing him smile.

"Hey, just because I did it to you, doesn't mean you have to do it to me too" I said.

"Ever heard of payback?" he replied, with a smile on his face, then he stood up. "Get ready, I'm taking you to the DX today!" Soda called, as he exited the room. I groaned as I tried getting up, but got too lazy, and fell back down.

"Fuck my life" I mumbled, covering my face with my arms.

"Well, well, well, someone's not a morning person." I removed my hands, finding Dally leaning in the door way.

"What'd you want?" He stood up straight, not taking his eyes off of me.

"Well, you know that broad, Sylvia?" I nodded in disgust. "Well, she'll be at the rumble tonight" he said.

"Why?"

"She wants a shot at taking you down, or something" he responded. I smiled.

"Huh, tonight will surely be fun" I said.

"Yea, whatever, I guess I'll see you tonight" Dally mumbled, before walking out the room, and closing the door behind him. I sat there, thinking. Surprised Dallas didn't try to flirt me up today. Ugh, I don't have time to be thinking about Dallas today, I've got to get ready to g head off to the DX. I think Soda told me it was some kind of gas station, but I'm not too sure. Still, I got to look good. You never know, there could be boys. I smiled and blushed at the thought.

At the DX, Soda gave me a quick orientation, before getting to work. He gave me the option of either working outside, or managing the cash register. I placed a finger on my chin, and pretended to think.

"Hmm, which gets me a better pay?" Soda cocked an eyebrow at me.

"You get the same amount of money on either" he replied.

"Hmm, which gives me the chance to talk to boys?"

"You're working out here" Soda said, almost instantly. I laughed.

"Geez, do I get any freedom?"

"Nope, now get to work" he replied. I smiled, and got ready for our first customer. I bet this'll be an interesting day. Huh, I wonder how long it'll take me to screw something up.
