Soda, Pony, and Darry were now clean and didn't smell like Potatoes anymore.
"Now that's better" I said. Soda playful punches my arm.
"So, what is a girl like you doing here?"
"I came to visit my cousins" I replied with a smile. Dally gives me one of those looks, as if saying 'I don't believe you'. "Okay, fine, my mom kicked me out, so I had to move here." He smiled. I roll my eyes at him.
"Your mom was drinking again?" I nodded.
"She even threw the bottle at me" I said. Soda's eyes widen.
"She didn't hurt you, did she?" I shook my head.
"Fucking, abusive bitch" I mumbled. Dally comes up to me and placed an arm around my waist.
"I like her already" he said. Sodapop quickly moves his arm away, and pulls me closer to him.
"Hands off my cousin, Dallas. I don't want you to try something with her, ya hear?"
"Fuck, you gotta calm down, I won't do anything to her" he replied. Soda pointed a finger at him.
"Better not" Soda warned, before walking off into the kitchen.
"Okay, that was weird" I said. The guys nod in agreement. I looked at all the guys in the room. My cousin's gang. Atleast they have friends. Back home, I only had Lucy, and she wasn't always around. Most of the time she was. But the times she wasn't, I used to go under an old bridge, and just sit there for a while. It would be raining sometimes, but I never really did care. Believe it or not, but I used to be bullied. All throughout 5th grade. A girl named Shelbie would make fun of me, and so would the whole class. Even my crush. I dropped out of school, and was home schooled for a while. Then, I returned for middle school, but I was different. Everybody who used to bully me, was suddenly scared to death of me. Except Shelbie. She even tried telling me off in front of everyone. I got so pissed, I actually punched her, and took her down. She never bothered me ever again after that day.
"Hello... Skyler" Soda said in a sing-song voice, slowly waving his hand in front of my face. I blinked and turned to him. "Finally back from planet Sky, I see" he teased.
"Yea, and frankly, I like it better over there" I replied.
"It's time for lunch, kiddo" he said. I stood up off the couch.
"Who are you calling a kid? I'm older than you by a day" I stated.
"Are not" he responded.
"Are too" I said.
"We were born a minute apart" he fought.
"Okay, sure, but I'm still older" I said. He crossed his arms like a little boy.
"Are not" he mumbled. I chuckled at him. Soda is 17, yet, he acts like an 8 year old. How can Darry put up with him? "Now c'mon, I'm hungry" he whined.
"I'm goin', I'm goin" I replied. I followed Soda into the dining room and took the seat right next to him. Once everybody else was seated, we dug in to the food Darry made. Today, it was proven that Soda and I, can't cook. Everything we touch, turns into a different color. That idea made me smile.
"What are you thinking about, Sky?" I turned to Darry, who was looking at me.
"I thinking about the reason why you're watching me eat" I replied. Everybody laughed. "i'm just joking, I was thinking, that today, we just proved something."
"Proved what?"
"That Soda can't cook" I responded.
"Hey, you either" Soda said. I laughed.
