Phil liked the rain. He liked being in it when he was upset and crying. That way, people would mistake the tears on his face as the cool rain falling from the gloomy sky.

Phil was thankful for the rain that began to fall as he walked home. It hid his tears nicely.

Truth was, he did want to go with Dan. But Nick didn't, and Phil felt like he had to respect Dan's boyfriend, even if Phil didn't like him.

Phil kept walking through the freezing rain that turned into a northern downpour. And Phil wasn't dressed for the weather. It was warm at first, so Phil was dressed in a t-shirt and some caprice (idk if that's spelled right) and now it was freezing from the rain, and Phil could only hope he didn't get sick.

He kept walking down the usual path he took, shivering from the rain.

Just as he stepped onto the street and could see his house from where he was, he heard loud running coming from behind him, as if someone was in a hurry.

Phil kept walking anyway, and just as he was in the middle of the usually non busy street, he heard his name.

"Phil!"

He knew the voice. He spun around and was met with Dan colliding with him, pulling him into a slightly warm hug.

"Dan, what the hell are you doing here?" Phil asked, hugging Dan back and gratefully taking in as much of Dan's body heat as he could.

"Phil, you're freezing," Dan noted, hugging Phil tighter. Phil couldn't stop shivering.

"Dan, what are you doing here?" Phil pressed, slightly yelling over the rain. It began thundering and Dan jumped. "Dan, why aren't you at home? Go home!"

"No, Phil, I..." Dan started, but cut himself off as he leaned in and kissed Phil's lips.

It was the best feeling in the world to Phil.

Phil kissed him back, holding Dan's face with Phil's fingers behind his ears but Phil's thumbs in front of them.

Dan held Phil's skinny waist, pulling him impossibly closer. Phil was a bit shorter, but it was still good.

Dan didn't like how he could feel Phil's ribs when he slid his hands up on them. He didn't like, that when he lifted Phil up a little, that Phil was so light. Phil almost felt like he weighed nothing to Dan, and he hated that.

Dan absolutely didn't like when he put his hands on Phil's hips, how he flinched, but continued to kiss Dan anyway.

But Dan still kissed him. Dan still kissed him because he wanted to. Dan still kissed him because he loved him. Dan still kissed him because it felt right.

But also, Dan still kissed him because he didn't notice the sound of the footsteps behind him that belonged to Nick.
