The market is slow going, dripping coats hang precariously everywhere and anywhere possible. A crowd has gathered around something but I can't see what it is, reading my mind she says "I don't know for sure but I have an idea" voice perplexed and her lips pursed. We go towards the crowd surrounding two figures one of them a girl with light brown hair whipping back and forth, her shirt hanging by tatters and out of her back a pair a brown and white wings spread out strong and powerful.

She is surrounded by a popular gang who used the rain to their advantage and tend to rob more than enough women for their own selfish needs. The gang consisting of thirty people ranging from fourteen to twenty five. Five of them surround her and the others hold a guy my age back while their friends beat him up.

Mystery rushes to their rescue reaching midway before shouting "duck". The boy twists out of his captors hold and hits the ground and so does the winged girl. Others from the group drop too, at least they have half a brain to call their own, but those who hadn't were sent across the market. An explosive unseen force when Mystery throws her arms out wide to accommodate both sides simultaneously.

The recently freed pair get up very quickly and race to group around Mystery, anxious in a way. Following their lead I do the same and come to stand to Mystery's left the other male on her right and the girls stare across at each other.

"You ok Griffin, Dylan" Mystery asks turning her head to each of them in turn.

Dylan answers "yeah... who's the new kid" he shifts his head to look me over, the girl named Griffin looks menacingly not at me but at the regrouping gang members "no talking just fighting".

I make it quick "Matthew" then the air snapped and cracked with the sound and scent of lightning, the tension that had held everyone at bay snapping along with it. We rush forward as one, Mystery lets out a feral growl and bolts onward breaking our terrible formation, she caught everyone by surprise. She plowed on screaming for blood, the three of us on her heels  following her lead and we succeed in being scary as far as a tattered girl, beat up boy, and scrawny nobodies get anyway.

The first guy to be hit by Mystery will have serious brain damage fore she had spun and planted her heal in the poor guys head, before continuing to the next few guys that she beat down without a second thought. Looking to my left Griffin is up in the air swooping like a hawk and striking viciously with her... talons? Claws? I don't know but it's working.

To my right Dylan drops to the ground and starts to swing his legs out this way and that knocking the gang members down, I couldn't see any more before I was stopped short by a big meaty arm around my throat "stop or I'll break his neck". Everyone stopped abruptly, some of his friends grab my new friends but Mystery is still raging against the members in front of me. Mystery breaks the spine of the last guy with a mighty back kick then looked around wildly for more victims, the last ones a pile of lifeless bodies and still warm blood. That's when I saw her eyes.

They were animal, cat slits with very little of that brownish gold colouring, her gaze falling on her friends and she stops to stare at my captive. He laughs "bad girl now I'll have to make you watch your friend die slowly, say goodbye" she nods more so to me than my captor "call on your element" and the strangest thing happened I sort of knew what she was asking.

My tormenter bellows "that's your last words to him" and he struggles to contain his laughter, Dylan and Griffin have grown quiet but I couldn't tell why though and I feared for them. Reaching out my limp arms to stretch for the earth, the one thing I was so desperately trying to ignore. I will it to move, it's voice like rock scraping against rock, the most talkative thing on all three earths. It's been a while old friend This time though I answer it indeed shall we make a show out of them for old time sake? I smile at the ground as it trembles ever so slightly awaiting my command.

Moving a hand upward the earth doing exactly what I ask of it, the ground shakes violently and the thug holding me looses his grip, I tumble to the ground the world still moveing beneath feet but not mine, beneath my feet the dirt is still unwavering and strong. Stretching my full height I pull back and plant my fist in his jaw and realize that there was a hard case of packed dirt encasing my fist when I hit him. Sweet!

The air rips through the market howling i all its  strength while we stand to watch the gang members dead, alive or injured fly away from us on the back of wind too strong to be normal. Each body traveling quickly as one to the wall so many feet away, then they hit, a sickening thud echoing throughout the market entranceway.

It is with this sound that Mystery crumbles to the ground suddenly breathing hard and pushing her skull together on either side of her head with her hands. Dylan ever the hero rushes forward, before me and Griffin follow suit. Dylan helps her up and Griffin asks "is she ok?" Mystery nods and says weakly "let's get back to the ship" she points a week shaking finger at me "you too".
