My class rushes past me like water free to flow where it wishes leaving a gasping fish alone to his now empty class room, turning I leave that all behind and escape to the chaos of lunch.

Several kids listen intently to blondie describe the latest stunt I have pulled when he waves to me the others gathered around him wave too asking how I do it. "A prankster never tells her secrets" I respond and hurry past heading to the lunchroom I pass someone new, a boy with dusty blonde hair, black ripped jeans and a white t-shirt.

He passes by without any form of introduction not even to bat an eye, as if I'm invisible, nothing more than another person in a stream of bodies. And you know what I like it, being invisible to this regal male is a tad bit intriguing, but why is he here? will he be staying at the school?

Just then Elaine comes up to me over excited "OMG did you see the new kid" and I mimic her "shah he's adorbs". In complete sync we laugh "LOL". Done with games we cut the girly banter and return to our usual conversation starting with her regular question "what did you do this time" so I tell her exactly what happened sparing no detail from the gossip queen.

"So what did you do?" she shrugs " you know the usual take a nap and get more gossip flowing... hey don't give me that look it's a difficult job making peoples' popularity dreams come true" I nod. She's glorified her position a little too much " and those who are cast down the list?"I ask nearly colliding with a racing teen. Elaine rubs the back of her neck "well in my defense I don't have complete control of the system, plus I could be Natasha spreading the 'other' rumors".

Shaking my head we continue towards the lunch room, heading towards to lunch ladies waiting behind a counter with todays menu hanging on the wall beside the cash register. Guarding the cash register is the scariest lunch lady anywhere, nobody dares joke with her, usually after ordering they run, just in case. But scary Nell is a peaceful giant. Walking right up to her, Nell speaks first always the ever cheerful when nobodies practically shaking in fear "I heard what you did to Mr. Grumpy" she shack a meaty fist at us "you should be ashamed of what you did to the poor man" I frown and look down at the boring tile flooring.

"But..." she continues "while your busy being ashamed and making up another pointless apology, I'll be here laughing at the images your class mates have gathered".

Elaine jumps in "have you every seen him that colour before" Nell shakes her head "that poor man has to teach this monster" she gestures grandly at me and a smile escapes me "whoa all I did was answer in more detail than expected" I give her my best innocent face.

Nell swats the air "what question was it?" Elaine laughs and I do a lame impression of my poor discoloured teacher "where is the newest star located". We all burst out laughing and so do the kids listening in close by, who wanted to hear the story told by the prankster herself, even though there would be a million different versions better than the original.

The new boy walks up unfazed by the laughter and over sized women working behind the counter, he waiting patiently for his lunch. We move over but Elaine pushes me into him, thankfully he didn't drop anything, from his tray including a pudding, that would have been disastrous. Yet some how i still managed to fall on my butt, in front of everyone, the heat rushing into my cheeks.

Staring daggers at Elaine, she pushes the air outwards towards the new kid righting his lunch, but I know what she means and I don't know whether I should agree or not. "I'm so sorry, my ignorant friend got a little over excited" I look up at his face and begin melting, he was hot from a distance b ut up close, it was getting hard to breath. He is simply gorgeous up close with those calm intelligent blue eye's as vast and dark as outer space with its multitude of stars but in him, there secrets.

He smiles, helps me up then walks towards Nell and pays for his lunch then exits the cafeteria with me unmoving the entire time captured in those brilliant eye's, never ending depths of dark cerulean blue crystalline pools. The longer a stare the more entranced I become , yet in those seconds of mesmerizing blue I don't find anything about him. His childhood and stories and memories a language in need of deciphering. Suddenly I am feeling sorry for all the times my language stumped Mr. Grodo.

Elaine ever the pest punches me in the arm "ooooh, miss torment has a crush" she whispers into my ear and now it's my turn to punch her "you'll fall in love someday sweetheart" she frowns "seriously taking damage here" her arms held up defensively.

The bell rings and everyone packs up their half eaten lunches and stream back to their class, the new kid turns to address all of them "sorry i have to go" he shoulders out into the hall. Elaine Grabs my arm and drags me out into the hall. She lets go leaving me to the merciless horde of smelly teenage bodies. Blind and pushed around, I am left to my own fate like a minnow in a river of trout.

Mr. Grodo's classroom door comes into view and I rush in, taking my seat and waited like a good girl for today's next lesson. Minutes pass when suddenly relief and joy floods all of my being, the new kid standing in the doorway with our principle.

"good afternoon Mr. Olde" we call in unison he grumbles something illegible. Not one for many words he briefly introduces the new kid "this is Daniel". The new kid stops him to say "Dylan" and the principle goes on as if nothing happened "meet your new classmates, I'll leave you to the capable hands of Mr. Grodo" then stalks off back to the dark of his office. Dylan walks in and takes an empty desk which is only a few seats away from me, the very thought bringing up the ever present memory of those eyes. Just then I remember what my sight had told me last night. He's the key to all of our futures! How could I have forgotten, if my sight is correct and they usually are, than the new kid would help save the galaxy.

Sitting in my seat I realize my ear is ringing again, shoot, it will only progress and I will be sent home again, Grodo calls it my free pass forever basking in others pain. The bell rings again letting us know that class has commenced and our desks glow, presenting us our work for the rest of the day. But my head isn't in it so I turn to the new kid and stare, who is this kid? What will he do? Could he really save us all? Mr. Grodo enters the room "alright class before you is today's assignment, and if you look up at the board you will learn how to get the right answers".

I snicker "do you have something to say miss Varn" looking him in the eye my voice leaking attitude "well Mr. Grodo if my smartness serves me right, everyone in this class is not going to pay attention whether you want us to or not. Thus resulting in us all failing your class" Pause for dramatic effect. "But" I surprise everyone and a student near me sleeping jerks awake "to fail us would mean re-teaching the same naughty student over so we will pass regardless of our actual marks". Pretending I have glasses I push them back up my nose because the pesky non-existent glasses keep slipping down the dainty bridge of my nose. Some girls snicker and the boys in the back slip money into each others hands.

My stubborn teacher remains in control of his colouring "I will not confirm or deny this theory miss Varn" he turns to the board "eye's on the front board so we don't linger on the issue too long". The class drags on, all that time I wonder when the ringing in my ears would end as the pain slowly grew, as it still grows now.
