Twenty Five.

Chapter twenty

Thunder clapped and lightning struck but neither of those things woke Ellington or Joey. The bedroom door creaked open and a medium sized figure entered the room. They silently stepped towards Ellington as he slept and placed their hand on his shoulder.

Immediately Ellington's eyes fluttered open, he let out a surprised yelp before falling off the bed and onto the floor.

His eyes adjusted to the light and he recognised the figure immediately. He also saw the tears marks on her cheeks and the tears that began to fall as soon as he looked at her.

"Rydel? Hey, what's wrong?" He said softly, getting up slowly and walking around the bed towards her.

"Thunder.. Scared.. Im sorry.. I love you.." She stuttered through the tears.

He wrapped his arms around her, hugging her tightly as she cried. "I'm scared." She blubbered, soaking his shoulder with tears.

He lay down with her, wrapping her in the covers and pulling her close to him. She placed her hands on his chest, looking up at him.

"I'm sorry for kissing Sophie. I was drunk and stupid. I don't have any feelings for her, I promise. You're the one I love. You're the only one I love." Ellington whispered to her.

"I'm sorry for leaving you. I should have at least let you explain. I love you so much and it hurt to see you with her.." Rydel replied quietly, nuzzling her head into his sweater. Ellington kissed the top of her head and wrapped his arms tighter around her.

"Please don't let me go." She whispered.

"I'm not going to." He replied quietly.

A short silence followed as they both held each other in their arms.

"Momma!!!" An excited squeal came from across the room. They both sat up a bit to see joey stood up in his crib. He waved at them both. "Momma hi!"

Ellington got up, lifted him out and put him on the bed. Joey crawled over to Rydel and hugged her. "Momma." Rydel smiled and hugged him back. "Hi Joeyy."

Ellington lay down again and joey lay in between them, cuddling under the blanket. Rydel and Ellington exchanged glances before both of them smiling.

"I love you." Rydel mouthed.

Ellington looked at his beautiful girlfriend and then his son who lay with his thumb in his mouth. He smiled to himself.

"I love you too."
