Chapter 11 To Have a Party with the Band

"This is so much fun!" Diane yelped as they started exchanging the gifts. The gym had been decorated with paper snowflakes and streamers. Elizabeth would later be informed that it was because this is where they held the middle school dances.

"Says the one who got the most presents," Meliodas joked gesturing to Diane's large pile of 4 or 5 gifts. She blushed a little at the attention and said that if she could she would've gave everyone else more presents as well. Ban brought over the crepes he had made and everyone took one.

"Okay so who's going first?" Elizabeth asked looking from each person and back. Diane raised her hand high and waved it furiously. Laughing Elizabeth she said "You go ahead Diane,"

Diane basically ripped open the packages. By the time she had opened all of the gifts no one could see the floor around her. After several minutes of cleaning up they finally found what her gifts were. She got the pen and hair ties from the boys. A pair of rock earrings and boots from Elizabeth.

"Awe, guys I love this stuff!" She said happily cuddling all of the stuff. Everyone laughed after she accidentally stabbed herself with the pen. She pouted for a moment before King pulled out a wet wipe and wiped the left over ink from her cheek.

"King why don't you go next," Ban said as King and Diane started to blush. He went back over to his own pile which contained 2 or 3 presents. The first one was the coat the girls had bought him and also a mini pillow that looked like his beanbag. The boys had gone cheap and bought him a Barbie doll and taped a picture of Diane's face on it.

Diane didn't have time to slap them before King threw the doll at them. Somehow hitting them both. Diane and Elizabeth laughed hard at this as Ban threw the doll back. Ban also decided to start opening his presents and got the jacket and a skillet from the girls. He got a giant candy bar from the guys.

"A giant candy bar, really classy you guys," Diane retorted rolling her eyes and crossing her arms over her chest. King and Meliodas shrugged and just went back to eating crepes. Elizabeth shook her head giggling quietly. "Okay, Meliodas it's your turn,"

Nodding he opened his gifts, he got a tie and vest from the girls. While from the guys he got this cool dragon handle bar thing. Then there was another gift that no one would admit to giving him. Inside it was a pair of tickets for some random band. After examining the tickets Elizabeth exclaimed loudly "I love that band!"

"Weird that captain got a pair of tickets to a band you love," Ban said lazily eating the giant chocolate bar. Elizabeth blushed at the implication, and shook her head saying she didn't even know they were playing here. Meliodas just shrugged and put the tickets in his back pocket.

"So Elizabeth it's your turn to open your presents!" Diane happily exclaimed. Elizabeth opened each present happily and was excited as she saw what each one contained. The first one was a pair of thigh high socks whom she knew was from the boys, one of them in particular. Next a vinyl that shockingly had come from the boys. She was extremely excited about that one. Then cute skirt and belt from Diane.

"Thank you guys so much!" She cheerfully cried. Bringing them all together for a group hug. King looked extremely uncomfortable, especially since he was being squeezed into Ban. After she let them go they cleaned up the left over wrapping paper and put the gifts away they decided to play some music and dance a bit. Ban plugged in his iPod and used Diane's speakers.

"Oh the weather outside is frightful," Diane and Elizabeth sang together as everyone danced stupidly. They all danced for another hour or so before anyone sat down. Before long it was just Elizabeth and Meliodas dancing, it started to become a game. Whoever danced the longest had to buy the other one an extra present.

Diane conveniently bumped into Elizabeth who lurched forward falling to the ground. Meliodas caught her as if they were dancing and he dipped her. They stayed that way for a second before the started to slow dance together. Swirling and twirling they want in circles. The room seemed to darken around them and it was as if they could only focus on each other.

Soon the song ended and clapping could be heard from their friends. Elizabeth's face lit up like a Christmas tree and she stood frozen with a goofy grin on her face.

"Looks like you win this one Elizabeth," Meliodas said as he sat down in one of the chairs they brought. She nodded and went over to the punch to grab a drink. It may have been awkward but they had both felt something. Something neither of the two had felt for a long time.
