I nervously watch the weird elf dude get on stage. He looks kind of dazed, yet he doesn't look that scared. I can already tell he'll do fine.

Oh God. I'm next.

"I need water," I stutter to Tobias and Caleb, who are standing by me. I walk away from them and to the refreshment table.

I don't know what's water and what's not, but I grab a random wine glass of clear liquid, wondering why they don't label these.

Someone suddenly walks up to me, and I get a huge whiff of the smell of perfume. Katniss.

I look at her. She looks beautiful, and I'm jealous even though I think I look amazing, too. She's wearing a long navy blue silky dress, that's flowy and airy. Her hair is down and slightly curled, falling over her shoulders in waves. Her lips are a maroon color, and so are her nails. Her shoes are silver and look pricey.

"Hey," she says.

"Hey," I say, feeling kind of dull next to her.

Katniss looks at the refreshment table. "God, why don't they label these?"

"I know, right," I say, which I hate. I'm so awkward.

Katniss takes a glass of deep red liquid, which matches her nails and lips perfectly. It sparks more jealously in me.

"You look great," she says, but for some reason I'm sensing its forced.

"So do you," I say, trying not to be awkward. "I love your dress."

"Thanks," she says. "Everyone loves yours the most, though." She lowers her voice. "All the boys are looking at you whenever they can."

I let out a short laugh. "No..."

"Yes. Especially him." She nods to a boy watching the TV screen. Harry.

I knew that. When Caleb introduced him to me, I knew he couldn't take his eyes off me. He wasn't that appealing to me, so I was rude to him. I kind of feel bad, though.

"Oh," I say, because I don't know what else to say.

Katniss starts to say something but she gets cut off by someone else.

"Excuse me."

I look and see a boy with dark hair reach in between Katniss and I to grab a drink. He tried to talk to me earlier, but I wouldn't have it. He's awkward, but handsome. I like what he's wearing. Black slacks, black suit coat, a white undershirt, and no tie or bow. He looks good. I just don't know who he is, though. Or why he talked to me earlier.

"You ladies look amazing tonight," the guy says.

Katniss looks at me. "Ignore him." She takes a sip of her wine. I don't know who he is or why Katniss wants me to ignore him.

"So, how are you girls doing?" the guy asks.

"Horrible, now that you're here," Katniss sasses to the guy.

I turn to him. "Who are you?"

He starts to talk but Katniss cuts him off. "He's Thomas," Katniss says, annoyed. "The most bothersome person in the world."
