Day 2
9:35 AMThe sun's up, but it's cloudy, resulting in a dull light from above. Based on the placement of the sun, I'm guessing it's about nine or ten in the morning.
I walk around. I feel like a lost dog. I'm not hurt or anything. Everything's fine. I'm in good condition. I just don't know where to go. I'm suppose to find and kill people, but I don't want to do that. So I don't know if I should just sit here and wait for someone to kill me or not. I don't know.
Everything started to look up for me every since I left Harry and Ron, as bad as that sounds. I took a blanket and the bag, which meant I got all the food and supplies for myself. It's a large backpack filled of basically everything I need to survive. It contains a lot of food, gloves, a scarf, a huge first aid kit, a flashlight, a knife, a water bottle, and a small handgun. I'm glad it's mostly food, because I have no idea how to hunt. I keep filling the water bottle up with water from the aquamenti charm.
Without Harry and Ron, I can make my own decisions, and I can do things without getting a lot of whining. Everything is great. Except for one thing.
I couldn't sleep last night.
Not the I'm-tossing-and-turning kind of not sleeping. I literally couldn't sleep. Last night, when I wanted to sleep, figured I had two options: I could hoist myself up in a tree and try to sleep there, which wouldn't happen for me, or I could sleep on the ground and pray I don't get killed in the night. Obviously I didn't want to do either one, so I had no choice but to just sit there all night. I was bored out of my mind. I realized that, if I'm ever going to sleep, I need to find allies. It's a scary thought.
I was so thankful for the backpack last night. Once I heard the thunder, I knew it was going to rain. I ransacked the backpack to see if I missed anything, to see if there was some kind of little umbrella in there, but there wasn't. Then I opened the small front pocket, and there was a poncho in it! It was a portable poncho, all squished up a small bag. It was thin, but still! Anything waterproof made me happy. I put the poncho on, and that's how I stayed dry last night.
All through the storm, I just sat in the middle of the woods. It's the most dangerous place to be during a storm, but it's not like I had any other options. I wasn't leaning against a tree or anything. I was just sitting there, in the open, awake and freezing.
That's when I heard the cannon. The first death in the games. Of course I was mad at Harry and Ron earlier, but I'm just terrified now. It could've been one of them. They were probably too dumb to put one of them on watch, and someone probably killed one of them. I'll find out tonight.
After the rain stopped, I sat against a tree and just stared ahead. Turns out, I nodded off for a few hours. I woke up to a nasty surprise, and a good surprise.
The good thing was the fact that I didn't get killed while I was sleeping. I was sleeping right out in the open. It's a miracle.
The bad surprise was the weather. It got way colder. Everything was wet after the rain, so everything froze. The woods were no longer green; they were gray. The grass was gray, the trees were all dead and gray, and the ground become colorless. My poncho was froze onto me. The trees froze. The ground froze. This weather forced me to put on the gloves and the scarf. They didn't warm me up too much, but they're at least something.
So here I am. Just a cold, lonely girl wandering around.
A dull headache suddenly begins in the back of my head. I recognize this kind of pain; it's a headache because of sleepiness. I'm tired. I need allies, or I need to get back together with Harry and Ron. I'm sleep deprived. I need sleep desperately. That three hour nap did me no good.
