Analeigh Noel Parker was the shy, new girl of school. She had just moved from Illinois, and was terrified of her new classmates in Los Angeles, California. From what she's heard, high school students in California are either the nicest you will ever meet, or the worst, so that's why she's sat in her car, refusing to get out. She knew she had too, but the thought of walking in front of all the people that were scattered around the front of the school scared her. Okay, let me rephrase something, when I say Analeigh is shy, I mean she's terribly shy. Speaking to people she doesn't know usually gives her an anxiety attack, and it's not that she doesn't like people, because once she feels comfortable and is used to you, she opens up and loved hanging around you, but until then she freaks out.

In fact, most of her friends in Illinois were people her parents set up play dates for her with when she was a toddler. She grew up accustomed to these people. In fact, she was comfortable with most people in her old town because it was small and she grew up with them. So when her parents informed her that for her senior year she would have to move with them to one of the biggest cities in the country, and attend one of the biggest high schools, she wasn't okay anymore.

Yet here she sat, staring at the pretty girls, and hot guys chat outside of her new, huge school. She checked the time on her phone, seeing it was almost time for school to start, so she grabbed her bag, fixed her hair, and stepped out of her car.

At first everything seemed fine, no one had noticed her, but as soon as she made it to the steps, everything good came to a halt. The teens stopped talking, and turned to stare. The girls were glaring at her, and the guys were staring with smirks on their faces. She didn't like being the center of attention, and just wished they would look away and go back to what they were doing before.
And they did exactly that. It was like they had read her mind. So she wiped her sweaty hands in her jeans, and continued her path to the door. Just as she was about to walk inside, a group of boys stepped in the doorway blocking her path.
"Guys look, we have fresh meat." The one in the middle spoke, causing the others to laugh. "What's your name, beautiful?" he questioned, and once again everyone's attention was on Analeigh. She stayed quiet, glaring at the boy. "What's wrong? Cat got your tongue?" He teased, cashing everyone to giggle and whisper amongst themselves.
"Leave her alone, Wade." A boy, from behind Analeigh spoke, and she turned to see who the voiced belonged too. He was attractive, and was holding a skateboard under his arm. He took a step closer to her, almost as if he was scared to upset her. She nodded, and he continued, standing beside her.
"Or what, Nolan?" Wade scoffed, causing Analeigh's attention to turn back to him.
"I think you know what." And at that moment Wade moved, and Nolan, ushered Analeigh in the school. "I'm sorry about him, he's like that with everyone new. I'm Nolan by the way." He spoke, sticking his hand out for Analeigh to shake.
"I'm Analeigh, could you show me where the main office is?" She whispered, and Nolan nodded, and took off down the hallway, Analeigh following closely behind.
"Here you are m'lady." Nolan spoke, bowing as if she was a princess. "I'll wait around and help you to your first class if you'd like?" Analeigh, nodded, unsure of how to feel. She was already starting to feel comfortable around this boy, who she just met. This has never happened before.
She walked into the office, clearing her throat to get the secretary's attention. "How can I help you?" She asked, pulling her eyes away from her computer screen.

"Um.. hi.. I'm new here and I was needing my class schedule" Analeigh muttered, digging her short nails into her palms, as she glanced back to find Nolan patiently waiting on his phone.

"Analeigh Parker?" the lady questioned and Analeigh turned back around, nodding. "Here you go darling." the lady said, handing her a bright blue sheet of paper, that Analeigh quickly took to Nolan.
"Lucky for you, I also have that class." He winked, and starting walking away. Analeigh followed behind, like earlier, until the reached their destination which happened to be English.
She absolutely dreaded English, it was the one subject that didn't come easy to her. She was an honors student, everything else came super easy to her, but English. Of course, she understood grammar, and how to analyze books well, it was all of the presentations that drastically pulled her grade down. She refused to do them, unless she had too. Even then, she was so quiet no one could hear what she was saying.

She entered the classroom, heading to the teachers desk, while Nolan found his "Ah Ms. Parker, I'm Mrs. Campbell." Mrs. Campbell glanced up and looked around the room, "You can sit next to Nolan McCall. Nolan raise your hand, please." Analeigh watched as his hand rose in the back of the class and she went to the seat beside him, pulling out her notebook and favorite blue pen.

"Hello, again."he spoke from beside her, causing her to giggle.
Maybe this school wasn't going to be as bad as she thought. Of course there was always Wade who could ruin her day, but as long as she had Nolan on her side, she didn't feel like she needed to worry too much.
