When She Runs

Chapter 8

Jenny pov

I knew since the day Aiden saw Rayne, but that was only because I threatened to tell everyone at school his biggest secret. We all were concern for Rayne but Aiden looked more concern then we did. But I talked to my brother and Pete, and we had made a perfect plan for Aiden to tell his feeling for Rayne. I just hope Rayne went along with the plan.

What did her dad mean by nightmares? I plan to ask her. We got to her room and she instantly went to her nightstand pick something up, and tried to take it in her bathroom but Pete stopped her and looked at the small bottle.

"Sleeping pills?" he asked.

 My eyes went wide. Why in the would she need sleeping pills?

"Sleeping pills for the nightmares?" my brother asked. 

She just nodded. It was a good thing Aiden went right beside her when Pete took the bottle or see would have fallen and hit her head or something. Aiden's tighten his hold on Rayne. Jack, Pete, and me shared a knowing look. Rayne also gave us a knowing look too. Aiden sat Rayne on her bed but kept his hold on her.

She patted her bed, and we all went, and sat around her. She was just about to say something when her door opened and Anton popped his head in.

"Rayne you tell them everything and that's includes my work. Your parents told me to tell you." Anton told her in a serious voice.

Rayne just nodded her head.

"If you guys have any questions after what she has told you come see me or her parents" Anton told us.

We all nodded our head. He came over and kissed Rayne's head, and walked out. Rayne took a deep breath. Aiden rubbed her arms trying to comfort her. She surprised us when she laid down, and put her head on Aiden's lap. But he didn't seem to mind, he just stroked her hair. We all waited patiently for her to tell us.

"Who has a first question for me to answer?" Rayne finally asked.

"What does Anton do and is he really your god father?" Aiden asked getting straight to the point.

"Yes he is my godfather, and what he does...he owns a security business."

"Security business?" Jack asked.

"In my terms it means bodyguards for really endangered people." she explained

We all looked at each other with wide eyes. Rayne is in danger?!?!

"What are the sleeping pills about?"  Pete asked. That's when we all noticed Rayne froze when Pete asked her. Aiden started rubbing her back to tell her it was alright.

"The sleeping pills are supposed to help me sleep. But as you can see they haven't been helping." she told us.

"Nightmares?" Jack asked.

"The nightmares aren't actually nightmares we just call them that." she said looking so sad.

"If they aren't nightmares then what are they?" I asked.

"Memories I guess you could say" she replied. 

"About what?" Aiden asked.

"That's a long story." She said. We all rolled our eyes. She knew we were staying the night that was just an excuse.

"Well babe if you forgotten your dad invited us to stay the night." I reminded her. 

She groaned and turned over so her back was facing us. She put her head in Aiden's stomach. He stroked her hair again and started saying comforting things to her. He picked her up and put her on his lap. He put her head on his shoulder.

"The memories are of my ex and all the things he did when we were together and when we weren't." Rayne mumbled.

"Like what?" I asked but before I even did ask I knew it was bad.

"We were together for two years, but those two years were hell. He would beat me whenever I did something he didn't like, talked to any guys, anything that he thought would take us apart. My parents had found out; I was so scared of him that when he found out that my parents knew he went crazy. Almost beat me to death, Anton followed me and found out what was going on." she  choked and tears started falling down her checks. Aiden wiped them away and held her tighter.

"I woke up in the hospital with people all around me. I told them all to go home and get some rest. I wanted to get some sleep but about an hour after they left he showed up with flowers saying he was sorry, but I just had enough and I told him it was over, and that was the last straw for him he went crazy. It was a good thing Anton had some of his guys watching my room because they were right out the door when he came into room. They heard him screaming came in, and took him out." 

Aiden still had hold on her, and he kissed her hair. He didn't seem to mind when she held on to him. Making sure he wouldn't let her go, and I think he knew what she meant when she held onto him. He kissed her forehead saying he wouldn't let her go.

"Ray you don't have to finish if you don't want to" Jack said. We all looked at him, he looked like he wanted to punch someone or something.

"Jack if you want to take your anger out after I get done talking we can go down to the gym where you, Aiden, and Pete can work out so all your stress and anger will be gone." Ray said. The guys nodded their heads.

"After he left the hospital was the last time I saw him. My parents didn't want to take a chance on anything so Anton had hired some bodyguards to keep any eye on me. But soon I got pissed because I couldn't go out and have fun even with bodyguards. So I went out and went to a friends party. I left but I couldn't call my parents because they knew I left without the guards; so I walked home she only lived about seven minutes from me, but it didn't go the way I wanted too."

"I didn't know that I was being watched by his guys and that Anton guys had noticed that I had snuck out and followed me but I got jump by Darkin's guys and they took me to an old house that nobody buys. They started beating me until he came in. They stopped and then he said 'So you think you can get away from me that easily? Think again baby doll. I'm going to make you regret breaking up with me.' He stabbed me in the leg but when he whispered that it was just a distraction for him putting himself inside me. He wouldn't stop even when I begged I started screaming. Anton's guy came and that's when they all ran including him."

"They couldn't find him for months but then they found out he was in England. And has kept track of him. That day you came and met Anton was the day I found out where he was moving to."

"And that's where sweetheart?" Aiden asked gently as he could.

"Here in a couple of months...his parents need to take care of things in England before they come." she told us exasperated. 

"Don't worry Ray we will make sure he doesn't come anywhere need you" Pete promised. Ray just nodded. She held on tighter to Aiden.

"So do you guys want to go down to the gym now?" she asked. The guys nodded, Aiden put Rayne on his back, and we walked down the stairs. "Go into the kitchen you guys need clothes you can work out in." she told them.

When we walked into the kitchen we saw Anton and her parents. We all looked at her and she just shrugged.

"Daddy do you have any clothes that the guys could work out in?" She asked.

"Going down to the gym?" he asked curiously.

We all nodded. He said he might have some that would fit the guys and he wanted to work out too.

"So do you have any questions for us?" Anton asked. We all shook are heads they just nodded and went back to what they were doing.
