Chapter 1

Dacey's POV

"Dacey you should probably get some sleep and be prepared for tomorrow" my mom said to me from where she was standing in the kitchen finishing cleaning up after dinner from just a few hours ago.

I grabbed the remote controller from the table sitting beside the couch turned off the tv where I had been watching some show about weddings on TLC, then I got up off the couch to walk in to the kitchen to join my mom.

"I guess so" I said realizing what time it was. I didn't even know it was already 11:00 pm and I had to get up early tomorrow to get ready.

"Are you excited for tomorrow?" My mom asked turning away from the counter she was cleaning to look me in the eyes. She was the one that looked excited, obvious from the expression clear on her face.

"I dont know I mean it is school anyway, not exactly my favorite thing" I said probably sounding a little harsh. But it was true, school wasn't really something I ever enjoyed. I went got the work done and then left and came back home. All I wanted to do was pass so that when the time comes I can graduate.

"But were back now! Aren't you excited to see all your old friends?" She asked still looking as excited as she was when she started with the first question.

"I bet nobody even remembers me besides Dakota. It has been 5 years since we moved" and that was also true. When we left I had my small group of friends and that was really it. Of course I talked to other people, and they knew who I was, but it was 5 years ago. Plus that was middle school and a lot changes in high school, but I decided to spare my mom that long explanation.

"I'm sure other people will too. I bet Niall remembers you" the sound of his name sent shivers down my spine and I completely froze. My mom was already turned back around cleaning the counter again when she said that. Once I hadn't replied at all she turned back around with a look of realization taking over her face.

"Sorry" she whispered "I know we said we wouldn't talk about him" she said and I could tell she felt guilty for bringing it up.

Finally I snapped out of it. "It's alright" I said with the best smile I could put on at the moment. Although it was completely fake. "Your right, I should go go bed though, goodnight" I said and hugged her before quickly heading upstairs to my room.

"Goodnight sweetie" she said and then turned back to finish cleaning off the counter.

~~~
I woke up to the alarm on my phone blaring "Little Bird" by Ed Sheeran. It was a wonderful way to wake up actually. Hearing the soft and beautiful sound of he perfect and skilled voice. I turned the alarm off and then looked up at my ceiling.
Then I realized its Senior year, my last year in high school and then I can go where ever I want and be completely free. Move where ever i want to, not having to worry about a curfew or cleaning up my house if I don't want to. I could go on an adventure an just travel all over the place. Maybe settle down and get a job doing something I love. All I know is I want to make this year the best one yet.
The past few years have not been the best, but everyone has there own problems in high school. I don't think you can get through with out them, all though I would love to be that lucky person who could.
Picking up my phone to look at it again I notice it says 8:04 am. Which means I should probably get up and get ready, I'm gonna make this year start off good and hopefully it will stay that way.
I pull the blankets off of me and get up of my bed and walk to my closet I grab some jeans and a cute top before going to the bathroom to do my hair and make up.
