Chapter 3

Dacey's POV

After what I'm assuming was realization for Niall, he finally turned back towards the front of the room and didn't look back at me for the rest of the class.

It was the typical first day stuff the rules of his class room and the school, some of the things we will be doing this year and all that stuff, but I zoned out after the first 5 minutes of him talking and was brought out of my thoughts when the bell rang to go to 2nd period.

"We'll that's it class see you tomorrow and we will start working" Mr. Scott said with a smile and then turned to the bored behind him to clean off why he had written in preparation for his next class.

"See you at lunch Dace" Dakota said before walking out of the room. I picked up my bag from beside my desk and then began to walk to the door, but the only way to get there was to walk past Niall who was just now getting up. So as fast as I could I walked past him almost jogging with my head down so maybe he wouldn't notice it was me, but sadly that didn't work.

"Dacey?" He said in that to familiar Irish accent accept now it was much deeper than it had been in middle school. I stopped in my tracks and slowly turned to look at him. "Hey I didn't know you were coming back, look we should rea-" I cut him off before he could finish speaking.

"Look I really have to get to my 2nd period" I said and walked out the door with out giving him a chance to even reply.

Walking to 2nd period, which is math, I'm starting to wander what he was going to say. We should really something..but really what? Was he going to say catch up or talk, because I have no intentions of speaking to him at all. I don't need what happened the first time with us to happen again. It was to hard the first time around.

Niall's POV

As soon as I heard her say "it's like Lacey but with a "D" I new that it was her. I haven't seen or talked to her since the beginning of middle school. I never got to apologize for the biggest mistake I've ever made and for being a complete jerk because after that happened she left and I didn't know where she went. Dakota was no help at all, she wouldn't tell me anything because she said she was protecting Dacey. Which I understood but still I needed to talk to her, and still do no matter what I have to make things right.

Dacey still looks like the girl I knew and was best friends with, except older. Her eyes still the same beautiful blue and her hair is the same just longer than it used to be but still that lovely chocolate brown. I couldn't believe my eyes when I turned around and it was really her. I never thought I would have the chance to see her again. I still can't believe it was actually her I keep thinking as I walk in to my 2nd period and take a seat right besides Harry.

"So Dacey is back. Have you seen her?" He asks curiously

Harry knows what happens between me and Dacey. When we were little me and Dacey were best friends along with Dakota and Harry, but me and Dacey were the closest of the group. After she moved I hardly would talk to Dakota anymore. I stayed friends with Harry and also Liam who wasn't really part of the group then but he still knows what happened. Later Louis and Zayn moved here and they became friends with us. Everybody knows it's always us 5 together we almost travel in a pack. But even after all these years I've never told them what happens just before they moved here. But now with Dacey back it will probably be hard for them not to find out.

"Yeah I saw her, we have the same first period" I said completely emotionless.

"We'll did you talk to her?" He asked curiously.

"I tried but she cut me off and said she had to go to her 2nd period" I said feeling sort of defeated. I'm sure that was just an excuse so she wouldn't have to talk to me.
