The next day we woke up, smelling pancakes, sausage, bacon.

"Maddie..." Grace calmly said while sitting and slowly turning to look at me. I gave her a little nod to confirm that it was definitely the scent of psb. We raced downstairs towards the goody scent.

"Good morning girls!" Mom said while adding the last piece of bacon onto a plate. Dad was sitting down, reading the newspaper, and drinking his cup of coffee. Typical family.

"Good morning." We both greeted and smiled.

"Maddie, can you pour two cups of orange juice?" Mom asked, bringing the plates to the table.

"Of course." I grabbed the orange juice and poured it in two cups. I love breakfast. The most important meal of the day.

We sat down and ate breakfast peacefully. We talked about random things but it was mostly my parents asking Grace questions about the future. I sometimes feel so bad for Grace because she has to make sure that she answered well. But what can I say, she's a natural at it. She's honest and very passionate.

I sometimes wish I could be like her. I mean who doesn't? Long wavy dirty blonde hair with blue eyes. Even though I have a light ash brown hair with green eyes, I still wish I looked like her. She had pretty freckles on her nose, cheekbones, and a little on her forehead that I would exchange my dimples for. But.. She has dimples too. Life's not fair.

"So what are you girls doing today?" Mom asked.

"We have no idea." I answered. "But we have today off so we might go out and do stuff."

"Well you two have fun. Be sure to put your dishes in the sink when you're done. I'm gonna run some errands." Mom stood up and walked to the bedroom.

"What are you doing today dad?" I asked causing him to put his paper down and finish his scrambled eggs.

"I'm probaly gonna go fishing with Tony." My dad answered and put his plate in the sink. Tony was his friend for a very long time.

"Alrighty then." I finished my breakfast.

"Hey... I wonder if Luke went to Starbucks today." I said, pouting at the fact that I don't get to see him today.

"Probaly. He always stops by everyday." Grace laughed at the fact that I'm blushing. Even my best friend knows that I blush at everything.

"True. I'm just so bored. I don't know what to doo." I fell on my bed and stared at the ceiling, trying to think of something.

"How about the beach?" Grace suggested.

"The beach? Now?" Grace was good at coming up with last minute things. She's so spontaneous.

"Yeah! Why not? Its hot outside. Perfect day for the beach." She wore a cheeky smile. Oh did I mention? Perfect teeth and perfect smile. One smile, and you'll possibly faint. I almost hated her when we first met cause she was too pretty. Too perfect.

"Not bad. Fine let me get ready." I looked through my drawer and shuffled through the bikinis.

"Oh and we're gonna have to stop by my house to grab my swimsuit and stuff." She looked around my room even though she's been here so many times.

"Who dropped you off here yesterday then?" I looked up at her.

"My mom." Grace smiled. "She had to go somewhere so she offered to drop me off."

As Grace hopped out my car and into her house, I looked at myself in the inside rear view mirror. This should take a while.. About 10 minutes late, I applied on some chapstick and saw Grace running out.
