Have you ever heard someone say to you that school is the best years of your life? That's what the adults always say to Lucy when she has a bad day at school. She hasn't been attending for two days now. Lucy can't avoid school forever, she heard loud thumps growing closer and louder and the bedroom of Lucy's door was banging as if a zombie wanted to come in. It was her mum. "Lucy!" Her mum shouted, "I know you are not ill, get to school now."
Lucy took a deep breath while she was tying her black and white striped tie, she hurried out the door. Not had any time to brush her black hair at all. The school was only a 15 minute walk away from her house. Every step she took, her heart started to feel squished. Lucy dreaded the sight of the three tramp-like bitches that was waiting her return. Luckily for her, they were not outside the school gates like they usually are.
Today was one of those days where everything goes right, only happens once in a blue moon. It's not as if she is targeted every day, her friends are also targeted. There is Mark, who is targeted because of his weight and speech problem. Katie is bullied because she stands out from the rest, people label her "weird" "strange" and "fucking mental." There was once a friend of Lucy's named Emma, who unfortunately, live streamed a video of her, stabbing herself in the heart because of all the bullying.
Lucy is bullied because she hangs out with Mark and Katie and also because she is not as attractive as some of the girls and also she is not very bright. Lucy cherishes her friends very much, she sees them as harmless individuals trying to get through life. Lucy laid her bag down on a brown bench next to her as she sat down and gathered her thoughts together. 8:23 am, half an hour before she should go to her classroom. When she decided to go, she picked up the bag and there was a yellow sticky note on it saying: "meet me by the big tree."
Lucy smiled and thought Katie might have done that, she has done it many times. Lucy walked over to the gigantic tree that stood in the middle of the school gardens, Woodwinter High is famous for it's vast garden. She sat under the tree waiting to see if Katie was waiting for her. A empty squashed water bottle was thrown on her head from above. It was the three girls who bully Lucy, sitting on the branches, they jumped down, Chantelle,Megan and Natalia. Chantelle was the one who lead the group.
"Discovered gravity 'ave ya??" Chantelle said sarcastically. The girls laughed and walked off. This is why Lucy never wants to go to school. She has told adults about it and they say they would do something about it and they never do. Lucy spotted the school gardener walking over, it was a shame he wasn't around at the time when the girls were there. He is very friendly, always lets on a smile and gets on with what he does. Lucy didn't have the time and energy to talk to him and so she ran to class almost crying.
Lucy checked her timetable: physics. Her heart sank, what pisses her off more about school is seating plans. She is sat next to the tall blonde snob, who always criticizes everything Lucy does. No longer was it the smooth day Lucy had hoped for. Nerves were kicking in when Lucy walked through the classroom door, the space where Tabitha sat next to Lucy was empty for now, that gave Lucy time to prepare for what the lesson would bring. Tabitha doesn't have a go at her every lesson, but most lessons she does.
Tabitha waltzed into the classroom. She sat next to Lucy turned to face her, looked like she was smelling shit and said, "can you at least make an effort to brush your hair some time, that's if you can even afford a hair brush." Lucy wondered if she could take anymore of this. She never replied to Tabitha, she just tutted and opened up her workbook. Not a lot of work was done by Lucy, she couldn't even concentrate after what's happening so far. How much can one person take?
"You haven't even done much, and your spelling is atrocious!" Tabitha was lecturing Lucy. "Carry on like this and you will never get anywhere in life, you will just be a mess. And you-"
