Life at Odds (Hunger Games Fanfic)

Chapter 4

David, Axel, and I go to the fire building station. The helper just gives us a guidebook and tells us to start. I pick up 2 sticks in my hand and start rubbing them together. This is going to take a bit. I look over and see Axel and David have fires already started.

"Um mind telling me your great fire secret"

David laughs and comes over. He turns my hands at a different angle then what I was doing. I rub together and then-

"HOLY COW I MADE FIRE!"

Axel and David just shake their heads at me. We head over to the food station. We learn about poisonous plants, killer animals, which part you should eat, and how to track down animals. The fire and food stations took up most of the morning, so we head to lunch.

"How much should we eat?" Axel asks.

"Well not TOO much, but still a lot to build up our strength." David replies.

We each pile or plates up like Thanksgiving. We make sure not to eat to fast, but still at a considerable rate. A bell rings, signally lunch is over.

We split up, and I head over to the weightlifting area. I have always had a decent amount if muscle, but its always good to have more. I do about 20 bench -presses and then just lift weights. I do this for a good 45 minutes or so.

I head over to the Sword station and learn how to use it better. By the end, I can at least kill a person. I then go over to Bow and Arrows. I was never really good with these. I shoot until i at least hit the second closest to the center ring. Good enough for me. Lastly, daggers. They are actually really similar to tridents. I slash at a dummy and even come up with my own combos.

I see that David and Axel are almost done, so I decide to do some knife throwing, just to touch it up a little bit. I only throw about 5 knives before I realize David and Axel are done. We decide to race each other, and I win. Axel comes in a close second, and David is a but farther behind.

We still have an hour left, so I decide to teach them how to swim. After the hour is up, they can swim fairly fast, but still not as fast as me.

We head off to our rooms, and go to bed. I change and the brush my teeth. I instantly fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.

I KNOW short chapter. Next chapter is final day of training and final scores, maybe also interviews.
