Thanksgiving Day:

Hazels Pov:

Today is Thanksgiving, a holiday Americans and Canadians celebrate. It's a day to be thankful and to appreciate life. Canadians celebrate it in October while Americans celebrate it in November. Thanksgiving was my favorite holiday back when I lived in New York. Here in England, they don't celebrate it. My mom and I used to have a tradition of going to our favorite park and having a picnic. When she passed I use to sneak out of the orphanage and go there.

Today I'm in an amenable mood. It's astounding to me that I'm actually about two months pregnant. Something behind my mind is obstructing me to tell the others about this news. Usually people wait three months to share the exhilarating news. However, I'm very scared to tell them, especially to Paul. I have no idea how he will react. Will he be infuriated with me, or happy for me. I laid on my bed pondering about this. I finally got out of bed and got dressed by eight. I walked to the kitchen and sat between John and Cyn.

"Happy gobble gobble day!" I smiled. I turned my head to both of them and gave them hugs.

"Someone is in a good mood this morning." John said. They both looked at me confused.

"Yes, I am. I am in a good mood because I am very thankful." I smiled again.

"Oh, yes, it's Thanksgiving for you Americans. You seem rather relaxed." John pointed out.

"Yeah, it's a pretty big deal in America." I informed him.

"Well, maybe, we'll have our own Thanksgiving feast here tonight!" Cyn cheered. "Actually, I cant cook. Maybe we'll just go out for dinner."

"That sounds wonderful, but you don't have to..."

"I'll invite the guys." John interrupted me. "I'll give them a call, hm?"

"Alright." I sighed. John got up and went to call the lads. "Maybe tonight's the night, I... tell everyone."

Cynthia leaned over to my ear so John wouldn't hear us. "Are you sure?"

"I mean it's better now then later, right?" I asked her softly.

"I guess so." she whispered.

"Okay, everyone can come! Yay!" John said excited as he walked into the kitchen.

"Yay!" Cyn and I said, simultaneously.

"This is going to be an interesting night." Cyn said. She looked at me and raised an eyebrow.

"Very." I nodded.

6:30 PM

"Can you two birds take any longer?" John impatiently blurred out from the living room. "We are already late, come on!"

"We're coming! Calm down!" Cyn said irritated. Cyn let me borrow one of her dresses. We walked out of my room, dressed up all voguishly, John held Julien. We all put our coats on and headed out. We hustled down the apartment stairs and entered the bitter coldness. The restaurant was down the street so we rushed there to meet the others. They all were waiting outside, cuffing their hands for warmth. They all looked at us, annoyed.

"Sorry we're late, these two took forever." John said trying to catch his breath. Cyn rolled her eyes and elbowed John. I was hiding behind Cyn because I didn't want Paul to see me. He was holding hands with Jane and whispering sweet nothings into her ear. He didn't seem to notice me.

"Well, let's go. We have reservations for six-thirty so we better go in now. " George said. "Plus, I'm starving."

Paul held the door for everyone, I was the last to go in. We both looked at each other as he held the door for me. We paused for a minute.
