Later That Morning
Hazels Pov:
I wake up very vague of what happened last night. I look at the clock and it's eight thirty. I stretch my arms and get up. I hear someone snoring. I turn around and see a half naked man on my bed. It was Paul.
"Ah!" I screeched. Paul jumped up and banged his head on the headboard. He fell to the floor and started to rub his head.
"OUCH! Jeez!" he groaned. I started taking deep breathes and slowly walked to Paul. I cover my body with the sheets and bend down to Paul. Paul looked at me.
"Are you okay?" I grinned.
"I'm okay." he smiled. I patted his back, then snapped back into shock. I stood up and pointed my finger at Paul.
"Paul, we slept together! Paul!" I yelped, worried. He got up. He was only wearing underwear and no shirt.
"I'm aware of that." he stated, biting his lip.
"How are you so calm? YOU AND I SLEPT TOGETHER!" I said, stressed out.
"I know... But I don't mind. I like sleeping next to you. I just don't like the rude awakening I got!" he laughed.
I looked at him in disturbance. I started pacing back and forth for five minutes. Paul watched me. We stood in silence and tried to reassure ourselves of how this happened.
"Hazel, please calm down." he said. I bit my lip and continued pacing. He got up and held my shoulders to stop me form moving. We both looked at each other and he gave me a grim expression. "Stop, Hazel. Take deep breaths, okay?. It happened."
"I'm... I'm so sorry." I grieved. "Jane, Paul? What about Jane?"
"I know, I know. Dammit. I know. I'm sorry." Paul rasped. He looked at me and caressed my cheek.
"I'm sorry too." I whispered. "Can I tell you a secret?"
"Yes." he softly said.
"I haven't slept the past few weeks because... I couldn't stop thinking about you. When you slept next to me, I was actually able to fall asleep." I smiled, looking down at the floor. He put his hand on my chin and made me look at him.
"I haven't slept either." he smirked.
"Well, isn't that peculiar." I gently laughed.
"Peculiar, indeed." he laughed. "Jane's great though. I mean she's something but lately it doesn't feel like I have girlfriend. All the bickering and arguments are too overwhelming. I love her though... Then there's you."
"Me." I smiled. "Just plain old me."
"You're something... Different. I can't explain." he said.
"In a good or bad way?" I giggled.
"A terribly good way that I can't sleep."
"Peculiar, huh?" I sighed. He looked at me and stroked my hair.
"Peculiar, indeed."
"You snore by the way." I laughed. I was trying to cheer him up and changing the subject because of the awkward tension.
"Oh no! I do?" he asked.
"Yeah, but I don't mind. I don't mind one bit."
