Christmas Eve

Hazels Pov:

It's 6:00 PM and everyone is anxious for tomorrow. I don't know if Julien or myself are more excited. We are waiting for the rest of the guys and Jane to come over. Cynthia is preparing dinner, John is in the living room playing with Julien and I'm in my room wrapping Paul's gift. I used red wrapping paper and a green ribbon. I can't wait until he opens it. I took a deep breathe and entered the living room. I left the present underneath the tree, John watched me.

"Hm, is that the present for that 'someone'? he asked. He smirked at me and I sat on the floor.

"Maybe." I said looking up at him. I twiddled my thumbs and bit my lip.

"Oh." he grinned. I rolled my eyes at him and got up.

When there was a knock at the door, Julien ran to open it, but he was too small to reach the door knob. I picked him up and opened the door.

"Merry Christmas Eve!" Ringo and George cheered. They walked in and hugged everyone.

"Merry Christmas Eve!" John greeted. I peeked my head out of the door and looked down the hallway to see if Paul was coming. No sign of him.

"Hey, do you guys know when Paul's coming?" I asked, as I scratched my hea. All the guys exchanged looks and shrugged their shoulders.

"Soon." Ringo said. I nodded my head and I put Julien down. The guys went into the kitchen to bother Cyn. I sat eagerly waiting for Paul.

I started whistling "Jingle Bells" and patting my lap impatiently. I checked the clock, it's 8:00 PM and still no Paul. Cyn walked into the living room and stood in front of me. "Time to eat, Hazel."

I looked at the door and then back at Cyn. I raised an eyebrow and she crossed her arms. "You have to eat Hazel. Paul will be here soon. Come on."

"Ugh." I groaned as Cynthia gave me a look which forced me to the kitchen. The guys were scarfing down their mash potatoes and ham. While drinking the fine wine that George brought over.

I sat next to Cynthia. I picked at my potatoes and stared at the door. Cynthia nudged me to join the conversation but I was oblivious to what they were talking about. About ten minutes went by and finally we heard a knock on the door. I sprung out of my seat and ran to the door, "I'll get it!"

I opened the door to gaze upon Paul carrying presents. He smiled at me and said "Hi."

"Hi." I smiled back at him, trying to catch my breath. He put the gifts down and gave me hug. I put my head on his shoulders and we embraced for a good fifteen seconds. I looked up and saw Jane right behind Paul. We both let go of each other. I didn't want to though.

"Merry Christmas Eve!" Jane said as she walked right passed me to give a hug to everyone else.

"Merry Christmas Eve, everyone!" Paul cheered, as he helped Jane take off her jacket. I took a step back as everyone greeted Jane and Paul.

10:30 PM

Everyone finished their dinner while I played with Julien on the floor. It was way passed Julien's bedtime. However, it didn't seem to affect him at all. He wasn't fussy, he was still very enlivened and energetic. I offered to put him to bed. I carried Julien to his room and got him into his little pajamas then put him in his crib.

"In a little while Santa is going to come and bring you presents! You have to go to sleep first though." I fibbed. I felt bad for lying to a one year old but as a kid I never had the pleasure of waiting for Santa so it was fun to tell him that. He closed his eyes and I quietly left his room.
