It's 00:29 what.

Over the last few days, Vic's appearance had a drastic change, bags hung dark and low under his tired eyes, which no longer endured signs of simple happiness, but were instead fully laced with sadness. I wasn't quite sure what was going on, I'd begged him to tell me more than once, but he refused, he barely even spoke to me.

Some nights he kept me up, wether it was in thought, or the sound of his sobs coming from his bed.

Many other people had noticed the change in his demeanour, one of them being Ruby, and she seemed lost without his usual, bubbly personality.

I hoped today would mix things up, it was visiting day. It's surprising how long we'd already been here, almost three weeks. It felt more like two minutes.

This place was nothing like I'd imagined it to be. There were no cells, iron bars or restriction, instead there were beds with mattresses, a common room and genuine freedom within the walls of the facility, and best of all, there were no bullies.

Instead there was Vic.

I was currently contemplating wether to wake him up. It was possibly the first decent sleep he'd had in quite a while, and seeing him fully relaxed makes my insides jump around. Unfortunately, the clock hit 8am, and I knew I'd have to wake him up, if I don't we'll miss breakfast, which means Ruby won't get to see Vic, and that causes her to get upset.

For some strange reason she calls me Eric. I've told her time upon time that I'm Kellin, she says she knows yet she still calls me Eric.

"Vic," I knocked his shoulder slightly, hoping I wouldn't have to do anything more.

"Vic," I said, only a little louder now. I nudged him slightly harder as well, causing him to grown and roll over.

Sighing, I pulled his body over so it was facing towards me.

"Vic, you need to get up, Ruby will go crazy if you don't see her at breakfast."

He sat up, stretching his arms and wiping sleep from his brown orbs.

I handed him a mug of coffee, which he gratefully took.

-

"-under the sea!"

Vic tried to smile at her as the red headed girl innocently explained a story that made absolutely no sense, which confused me. Even through all the recent mornings where he'd been frowning, he'd managed to get along with Ruby, always smiling and agreeing, continuing on the stories for her, but today, he seemed so distant.

Peoples family members had already arrived, crowding the dinner hall. It much resembled last week, only now it was much earlier and it smelt of cooked breakfast, which the staff made on special occasions.

"What times you brother coming?" Tony asked Vic, striving to spark conversation.

"About 10," was his response, and it was mumbled and barely able to understand.

"Cheer up, are you not happy to see Mike?"

"Yeah!"

When the conversation ceased to continue, Tony gave up, grabbing his things and, most likely, headed to the common room. Since so many people were occupied with family, he possibly had the TV to himself, which was good.

I wasn't sure if my mom was coming today.

Vic sighed and stood up, pushing his full tray away from his skinny frame, about to leave the table. I grabbed his hand before he could.

"What are you doing?" He asked, confused.

"I- I don't know."

He wiggled out of my grasp, walking with his head down through the hall.

I muttered a quiet goodbye to Jaime and Ruby before standing up and following behind his tracks. I was fed up of seeing him upset.

Before I could even approach were I predicted he was, someone called my name.

"Kellin," someone gasped, sounding strangely out of breath, "Kel."

"Mike?" I was confused as why Vic's younger brother was approaching me, instead of Vic himself.

"Kel! Have you seen Vic?" He chocked, obviously having been running.

"No, he left the table a few minutes ago, have you?"

"Yeah but he ran away from me."

"What? Why?"

"I'm not sure, I approached him, but before I could fully reach him he spun round and sprinted away."

I tried to think of all the possible places he could have gone, but only then did it dawn on me that I didn't know. I didn't know where he would've gone.

Where did he go when he disappeared?

"I- I don't know where he could've gone," I muttered, almost mad at myself for not knowing.

"Fuck."

He let out a breath of despair, explaining his simple plan of separating and searching in separate parts of the hospital.

I was taking left wing and the gardens, Mike taking the right wing and the few facilities on the second floor.

Little bit of a change in the next chapter
