In Autumn
Sometimes I end up taking
The old path I used before, lingering
For a little while, absently,
Catching foliage leaves falling helplessly
Around me; tenderly embracing
The empty spaces in my eyes, filling
Every inch inside, slowly crushing-
The sound of leaves, breaking me gentlyIn Autumn,
Light footsteps, miles away treading.
Somewhere, an old song is serenading
The trees, the breeze, kissing my loosened locks softly-
The way you did. Passing between melodies, achingly
Prickling my eyes, my heart, wavering.
And like these leaves
Piece by piece,
I fall,In Autumn.
