Suprise!

James pov

Professor McGonagall spoke up

"And for everyone we have a big surprise that none of you were expecting. We have a new Defense Against Dark Arts teacher!"

There was a knock on the wood of the enormous door leading to this hall. We all looked back and I gasped! I couldn't believe it!

Now...

As the door creaked open, I saw dad. It was dad. He walked up and as he did he walked by our table and patted my head as he walked past. Professor McGonagall smiled at him as he reached the front and shook hands with him. Then she announced

"Our new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor is Professor Potter. Would you like to introduce yourself Harry?"

"Ok, sure."

Dad said

"Professor Potter, don't you dare ask for my autograph. And I am head of Auror Department and my wife is the JATMOM in the Ministry so you better not break any rules. Defense Against Dark Arts and Head of Gryffindor."

There was a huge explosion of applause from my table. And I saw a few other people, even at the Slytherin table clapping for Dad. I saw Mei. We caught each other's eye. She mouthed

"Talk to you later?"

I mouthed back

"Sure."

And we turned back to face the front. Soon afterward McGonagall announced dinner and the dishes in front of us filled with food. I started stuffing myself with all that delicious food, roast beef, honey-smoked ham, fried potatoes, and a lot more! It was delicious. Then I wolfed down my dessert as fast as I can and told Yosef I would be right back. I went up to the teacher's table where Dad was talking to Professor Bell and Professor Longbottom.

"Dad! What are you doing here?"

I asked him. He turned to look at me and said

"Hey buddy. It was a surprise for you. There isn't much work for me to do since all I do is tell the other Aurors what to do. Mom and I kept me becoming a teacher here a secret from you, your sisters, and your brother. When you got here on the train I had just Apperated into Hogshead and I walked here."

Flashback
I waved at my parents and my siblings as the express started chugging away. But something was weird dad seemed to disappear.

Then he walked around the teacher's table to hug me. I hugged him back and asked

"Are you going to be my teacher?"

"Yep. But just so you know I have to call you Mr.Potter and you must call me Professor Potter unless it is only in the presence of us or with another teacher. You can't call me dad. Even in front of a friend. The only friend that is an exception is Mei."

He said

"Yes sir."

I said. He smiled and went back to talk to Professor Bell and Professor Longbottom. I went back to our table where laughter was ringing like jingle bells. I wanted to talk to Mei but I couldn't because once she finished dessert the prefects were telling us to follow them.

"Come on first years, follow me!"

It was Teddy! He had become one of the Gryffindor prefects. I followed him up to the Gryffindor Dormitories. He stopped in from of a painting of Dumbledore, one of the Headmasters at Hogwarts when my dad came here. Dumbledore in the painting asked

"Password?"

"DA Dumbledore's Army"

Teddy answered. Then the portrait swung forward and lead to what Teddy said is the common room. He told us where the boy's and the girl's dorms are.

"Oh, and boys do not try to get to the girl's dorms, the stairs will turn into a slide. And your trunks are already under your beds, so goodnight."

And Teddy went up the stairs to go to sleep. Then someone else came in the common room. It was Dad again. Dad came over to me and whispered,

"Mei wants to see you so with me to my office, now."

"Yes sir."

I answered and gave Nora and Josh a thumbs up as I followed Dad out the portrait hole. Then Dad took me Through the maze of the castle to his office. It was big and had a desk with a swivel chair in it and a couch and also an armchair. Mei was in their and as soon as she saw me, she bounded up to me. We hugged each other and sat down in the couch. Dad smiled and said he will leave to our little chat and sat down at his desk and picked up the newspaper.

Mei started talking

"So did you know that your dad was going to be the teacher? You didn't tell me! You could have told me!"

she said looking agitated.

"No! Mei, I swear I didn't know. Mum and Dad kept it a secret from me and my brother and sisters."

"OK, fine I believe you."

"Why don't you eat with me during lunch and breakfast and stuff?"

"I can't James, I'm sorry. I have to stay at the Ravenclaw table but maybe we can meet somewhere else, you can send a letter by owl or we can talk about it a little during class or have chats like this in your dad's office."

"Fine, but not here. Dad might think we are dating or something, and I wouldn't want that."

"Yeah, ok because neither would I."

I yawned.

"Well, I'm getting sleepy I think I'll go to bed."

"I should go to, see you in a bit."

We both left dad's office with passes for being out at night and went back to our dormitories. I then ran into the Headmistress. She said,

"Well, Mr.Potter. Why are you out so late? It is not good for the child of a teacher to be breaking the rules."

I showed her the pass. She smiled.

"Very well then, on your way to bed!"

I ran the rest of the way there.

"DA Dumbledore's Army."

Nora had gone to sleep and so had half of the other Gryffindors. Others were whispering in the common room or playing cards or whatever. I went over to Josh who was asleep in a red velvet armchair. I yelled

"Josh!"

In his ear. Everyone looked up for a moment and went back to whatever they were doing. Josh jumped, and said

"Bloody hell! Oh James, it's you."

I nodded. He said

"This chair is so comfortable I dozed off."

I felt the chair. It was a cloud of fluffiness. Then I yawned.

"Come on Josh, lets go to bed."

So we went to bed. I was so tired as soon as I hit the bed I was off like a light.

How did you like it? Please comment and vote. These are basically the only main characters there are going to be. That is because it will get too complicated to include James's other cousins. Nora, James and Josh are much like the Harry Potter Trio!

I will also like to pay tribute to Mr. Alan Rickman an amazing man. For all of you that do not know, Alan Rickman died on January 14, 2016. He was the best actor ever to portray the part of Severus Snape. RIP Alan Rickman.
