CHAPTER 3
Vanessa's POV:
Friend. A friend is someone who stands by you through all moments of your life, happy and sad. Easy and difficult. A friend is someone who is loyal to you and wants the best for you always. A friend is someone who is always there to cheer you up when you are down. A friend is someone who smiles when you smile and cries when you cry. But most importantly…….a friend is someone who DOES NOT abandon you in a crisis.
Okay, so that was a slight exaggeration……but still! I mean how could my “so-called” best friends just abandon me with a guy. And not just any guy, mind you. They abandoned me with Ashton Williams!
Only the hottest guy in the world that I have had a crush on since fourth grade and who doesn’t remember me at all!
‘So…..Vanessa.’ Shoot! Why can’t he just walk and not talk like other guys.
Okay, V. You can do it. Keep it cool and keep it simple. Cool and simple. Cool and simple. Cool and simple.
‘Yes…..Ashton?’
‘So I take it you don’t remember me at all, do you?’ What? How could he even ask me that?
‘Of course I do. You’re Ashton Williams. In fourth grade you were my cru………’ I quickly shut myself up as soon as I realized what I was about to say. I cannot believe I almost told him he was my crush since the fourth grade, not even just in fourth grade. Urgh! Me and my big mouth.
He raised an eyebrow at me and I realized he was still waiting for me to complete my sentence.
‘M-my…..classmate. You were my classmate in the fourth grade.’ I stuttered.
‘Right.’ Why did he sound like he was almost disappointed? ‘I gave you my pencil ‘coz yours was broken.’ He said with a small smile.
He remembers me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I shrieked internally
On the outside I just laughed. ‘Yeah. I remember that. Your pencil saved the day otherwise I would have had to leave the last question in the pop quiz. Can you imagine? I mean if you hadn’t lent me the pencil then I wouldn’t have gotten a hundred on my test and my record would have been broken.’ I said remembering that moment with crystal clarity.
‘Wait, let me get this straight. So you got a hundred on every single test in the fourth grade? I mean I know you were a straight A student but a hundred? On every single test?’ He asked shocked, eyes wide.
I shook my head. He looked slightly relieved until he heard what I said next.’ I have gotten a hundred on every single test starting from the fourth grade up until date.’ I stated. If possible his eyes widened even more and his jaw dropped. But there was also a look of something like pride on his face, you know that kinda look a proud father would have when his son becomes the president of the united states? Yeah. That kinda look.
But wait, I don’t want him to be my father because that would be wrong on so many different levels. I mean who has a crush on their father?
But that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t make an amazing father someday in the future….oh my God! What is happening to me?!?!?
