Jay paced in his living room in great anxiety. The party guests were scheduled any moment now. Though his dad had chartered a private jet, since there wasn't a perfect place for it to land anywhere near the house, a reservation was made at the national airport for it to land. Therefore, Jay's father had hired a group of cars for the day to get them from the airport.

Jay looked around, the decorations were complete. The various rooms in the mansion had been opened and cleaned out. Dusted and fresh furniture put in. Jay smiled as he surveyed the house and all the furnishings. His dad had made sure there was no problem the guests had to face. Each room had its own attached bath and a balcony. The balcony's faced each other in the interior around a large, striking lawn, with loads of different flowers. The mid of the lawn was dominated by a huge fountain, with the statue of a huge serpent, entwined around a sword. It was something that had caught Jay's attention the very first day. It was just so....... classy.

He sat down on a huge settee and waited for the company to arrive. He had been pretty busy the entire week, making preparations and all. He rested his head against the head rest, a small tired smile playing on his face. He could not wait for his completely crazy friends to arrive. It just seemed an eternity since he had last seen them, bidding him farewell on the Californian Airport. He was pretty restless and edgy.

Suddenly, he heard a voice.

'Hey, Jay!'

He looked up astonished.

'Good Lord! Mia.'

And sure enough, twenty seconds later, in entered Mia along with Mark and Will. They were best buddies and spent a whole load of times together. Mia was grinning, her face shining with excitement and joy whilst, Mark and Will held equal looks of wonder on their faces. Jay laughed and lunged forward to meet them. Mia rushed towards him and hugged him tight.

'Jay! I missed you so much. I.....'

Jay shushed her up by breaking apart slowly and placing a finger on her lips.

'I love you, too. Did you have a good time?'

Now meeting Mark and Will, he asked them. Mark shook his head, while Will's smile only deepened.

'Oh, yeah. It was great! Couldn't have had a much better time.'

Mia was still looking at Jay, with a weird look. She surveyed him completely, eyebrows pulled together in a tight frown. Jay stole a fleeting glance at her and was suddenly, self-conscious.

'Hey! What's it, Mia?'

Mia smiled quickly, rearranging her expression. Then she said.

'Oh, nothing. Umm, Jay? You look very different!'

Mark and Will exchanged a troubled look. It was true. There was something a bit changed about Jay. Jay looked at himself and then turned to Mia, eyebrow raised.

'Really? I think I feel the same.'

Mia bit back a smile and her eyebrows raised so much, they were under the danger of disappearing under her hair.

'I think something is amiss. Is it about a girl?'

Gaping at how quickly she had jumped to that conclusion and correctly, Jay looked at her in awe. Her lips twisted in a smile as she enjoyed his expression, while Will and Mark clapped him hard on the back and congratulated him. Mark said, in amusement.

'I never thought you'd actually settle on for a girl. God, did hell freeze?'

Jay held his hands out looking for a possible explanation, but could form no words. Mia laughed at his lost expression.

'Hey! What's wrong?'

Jay was still stunned. How could they have known? Had his face really shown all that? He hoped they wouldn't have gone on to the more personal stuff.

'How did.... You, know? I mean I didn't mention it....'

Mia silenced him with the wave of her hand.

'Trust me, Jay! I know you inside out.'

Jay looked at Mark. He was busy tying his shoelace while Will stood at a corner, looking at Jay and Mia in amusement. Trying to change the topic, he addressed him as he asked.

'So where is everyone else? Your parents and all?'

It was Mia who answered.

'Well, they had to go shopping so they did. I wanted to see you immediately, thus I came home directly. But that's beside point, Jay. Don't change the topic. Answer me.'

Jay smiled weakly before answering her, finally admitting defeat.

'Yeah. There is one. I'll make you guys meet her on the party night. You'll like her. She easy to hang out with and... Really beautiful!'

Jay knew he could not hold back the smile that lit up his features and Mia smiled. Will and Mark cackled loudly and Jay hung his head, kind of a bit abashed that he could not help the colour that rose to his cheeks. Mia leaned towards him so that her lips were only inches from his ears. She winked and said.

'Gone onto that already? Well boy, I suggest you learn fast!'
